Wayside Health Associates

Wayside Health Associates A privately owned, solo, internal medicine practice serving the Sudbury/Wayland area. Please call us ahead of time to schedule any appointments you need.

Established in 1990, Wayside Health Associates is the private medical practice of Jay B. Krasner, M.D., Board Certified Internist and graduate of MIT and Brown University. We are a community-based primary care office that specializes in routine sick care, preventive care, and patient education on how best to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. We are open Monday through Friday during the day--we do not have night or weekend hours. We do have a coverage group for illnesses that arise while we are closed; however if you are experiencing a true emergency, PLEASE CALL 911 and be seen in your nearest emergency department WHETHER WE ARE OPEN OR CLOSED. We are a very busy practice, and **we cannot accommodate walk-in requests to be seen by the doctor.** We will always do our very best to fit you into the schedule on the same day that you call, if you have a specific issue to discuss. If you have a list of concerns, or you are not specifically sick, we recommend you book an Annual Preventive Physical, which is scheduled 4-6 weeks in advance. We are located across from Bistro 20 (formerly Sky Restaurant), on the Sudbury/Wayland line. We are near the back end of the building (Main Entrance 3), and then the first door on the right once you are inside ( #107). When you arrive for your appointment, please remember to bring your most recent insurance card, your insurance copayment, and any relevant paperwork such as forms we may need to complete. Please feel free to call us during normal business hours with questions or prescription requests, and our knowledgeable staff will address your queries as best they can, and pass any messages to Dr. Krasner as need be. We will always return your calls the same day, if possible.

Effectiveness of Face Mask or Respirator Use in Indoor Public Settings for Prevention of SARS-CoV-2 Infection — California, February–December 2021

The findings of this report reinforce that in addition to being up to date with recommended COVID-19 vaccinations, consistently wearing face masks or respirators while in indoor public settings protects against the acquisition of SARS-CoV-2 infection. This highlights the importance of improving access to high-quality masks to ensure access is not a barrier to use. Using a respirator offers the highest level of protection from acquisition of SARS-CoV-2 infection, although it is most important to wear a well-fitting mask or respirator that is comfortable and can be used consistently.

This report describes face mask or respirator effectiveness in helping protect against COVID-19 infection.

Myocarditis Cases Reported After mRNA-Based COVID-19 Vaccination in the US From December 2020 to August 2021

Among 192 405 448 persons receiving a total of 354 100 845 mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines during the study period, there were 1991 reports of myocarditis to VAERS and 1626 of these reports met the case definition of myocarditis

Or, chance of myocarditis after mRNA is about 1 in 118,000. To place in perspective, a person in the US has a lifetime risk of being struck by lightning of 1 in 10,000. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK441920/

This descriptive study compares the effect of mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccination with BNT162b2 (Pfizer-BioNTech) vs mRNA-1273 (Moderna) on the reported cases of myocarditis in the US after each vaccination dose.
