We know it’s not easy keeping kids home — but returning too soon can slow recovery and spread illness.

✅ Kids can return to school when they:
• Have been fever-free for 24-48 hours without fever-reducing medicine
• Have improving symptoms (energy, appetite, cough)
• Feel well enough to participate in class

🛑 If your child is still very tired, coughing constantly, or needing frequent meds, a little more rest can go a long way.

When in doubt, call us — we’re always happy to help guide you. 💙

🤒 Keeping Kids Hydrated When They’re Sick💧

When infants, toddlers, and kids aren’t feeling well, hydration is one of the most important parts of recovery — even more important than how much they’re eating.

🍼 For Infants:
• Continue breastmilk or formula as usual
• Offer smaller, more frequent feeds
• Call us if your baby has fewer wet diapers than normal (minimum of 3-4 diapers in 24 hours)

🥤 For Toddlers & Kids:
• Offer small sips often (water, oral rehydration solutions)
• Popsicles, ice chips, and diluted juice can help
• Avoid sugary drinks and sports drinks when possible

🚩 Watch for signs of dehydration:
• Dry mouth or lips
• Fewer wet diapers or bathroom trips
• No tears when crying
• Lethargy or irritability

If you’re worried about hydration or symptoms aren’t improving, please call us — no question is too small. We’re here to help keep your little ones safe and supported. 💙

🎄💙 Holiday Stress Is Real — Even for Kids 💙🎄

The holidays can be joyful, but they can also be overwhelming for children and parents. Between routines changing, busy schedules, sensory overload, and big emotions, it’s normal for kids to feel stressed this time of year.

Here are a few pediatric-approved tips to help your family navigate the season with a little more calm:
✨ Keep routines where you can
Regular sleep, meals, and downtime help kids feel safe and regulated.
✨ Build in quiet breaks
A few minutes of reading, deep breaths, or a cozy, calm space can help kids reset.
✨ Manage expectations
Holidays don’t need to be perfect. It’s okay to simplify plans or say no to extra events.
✨ Watch for signs of overwhelm
Irritability, clinginess, tummy aches, or trouble sleeping can all be stress signals.
✨ Validate feelings
Let kids know it’s okay to feel excited, tired, anxious, or “too much” all at once.
✨ Take care of yourself, too
Kids do better when their grown-ups feel supported. Your mental health matters.

From our entire pediatric team, we’re wishing you a holiday season filled with peace, grace, and gentle moments. 💛

🎄 Navigating the Holidays With a Newborn 🎄

The holiday season is magical… and a little overwhelming when you have a new baby. Here are a few pediatric-approved tips to help you enjoy the season safely:

• Prioritize rest — Your baby’s sleep schedule may shift, and that’s okay. Build in quiet breaks.

• Limit exposure — Newborn immune systems are still developing. It’s okay to skip large gatherings or ask sick family members to stay home.

• Hands washed, always — Kindly remind loved ones to wash hands before holding the baby.

• Keep visits short — Protect feeding and nap routines by setting time limits that work for you.

• Follow your instincts — You know your baby best.

You’re doing a great job—here’s to a safe, cozy holiday season with your little one. ❤️✨
