Today, we mourn the passing of CHKD pediatrician Dr. John de Triquet, and offer our heartfelt condolences to his family, patients, and colleagues.
“This is a tremendous loss for his family, for our community and for the CHKD family,” said Amy Sampson, CHKD President and CEO. “Dr. de Triquet was a valued and respected pediatrician here for almost 40 years. He touched thousands of lives and helped countless families as a pediatrician at Pediatric Specialists. What many people may not know is that he was also a trailblazer in caring for children suffering from abuse and neglect. He was CHKD’s first physician dedicated to this patient population and tirelessly advocated for these young victims, helping scores of traumatized children. He lived a life of service to others and left the world a better, safer place for children.”
His colleagues remember him for his commitment to patient families and compassionate nature.
“Dr. de Triquet dedicated his life to his community,” said Dr. Leah Rowland, a pediatrician at Pediatric Specialists. “As a pediatrician, he always went above and beyond for his families, and we were honored to work alongside such a brilliant, compassionate physician and friend. There are no words to encompass how much he will be missed, and our hearts are with his family and all who will miss him.”
Dr. Robert Fink, also a colleague at Pediatric Specialists, called Dr. de Triquet “a consummate pediatrician, extremely bright, and very well read. He was highly respected by his colleagues and loved by his patients and everyone in our office. Our hearts are heavy and broken.”
