❤️ February is Heart Health Month! ❤️

At Western Tidewater Free Clinic, we care about your heart health and want to encourage our community to take proactive steps to maintain a healthy heart.

Here are some essential tips to keep your heart beating strong:
1. Eat a Heart-Healthy Diet: Focus on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Limit saturated fats, trans fats, and sodium.
2. Stay Active: Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise each week. Walking, cycling, and dancing are great ways to get your heart pumping!
3. Manage Stress: Incorporate stress-reducing activities into your routine, such as yoga, meditation, or spending time in nature.
4. Stop Smoking: If you smoke, seek resources to help you quit. Smoking greatly increases your risk for heart disease.
5. Know Your Numbers: Regularly check your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and blood sugar. Early detection can lead to better management.
6. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to help your heart pump blood more effectively.
7. Get Regular Checkups: Schedule annual checkups with your healthcare provider to monitor your heart health and overall well-being.

Let's focus on our heart health this month and support each other in living healthier lives! ❤️ Together, we can make a difference.
