After the ARRIVE trial publication, the number of 39 week inductions increased and the number of cesarean sections DECREASED. This further confirms that induction at 39 weeks does not increase the risk of cesarean but actually decreases the risk.

This cross-sectional study analyzes the rates of induction and cesarean delivery before and after the publication of A Randomized Trial of Induction vs Expectant Management (ARRIVE).

For those who may need to help their partners out a little for the laboring process!

We are excited to announce the launch of our newest class! The Daddy Doula Class was created with birth partners in mind! This class will be a Live Zoom Class taught by Patricia Howell, experienced Certified Lamaze Childbirth Educator and Birth and Postpartum Doula and will be focused on empowering birth partners to support their loved one through pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum. It also includes a class packet with over 20 handouts of information! You don't want to miss it! Registration is required, so please call today at 417-832-9222.

We are currently offering all of our classes FREE to expectant and new parents. The Doula Foundation is a non profit organization. If you would like more information on sponsoring a family in need, please give us a call!

This brought tears to my eyes and rings so true! Labor and delivery is its own world... it’s an emergency room, delivery room, surgical unit, critical care unit, and so much more. We run into rooms to care for moms and their unborn children without a second thought.

“We are the people who face screaming women, plummeting heartbeats, and splashing body fluids. We take scalpels to skin and flip twins inside their mothers. We are the people who rush in, not the people who stop to don gear that takes precious time from those who need us. We will adapt, but it won’t be easy.”

Now I go to work terrified. I cannot sleep the night before I am on call. I worry that I won’t see my children again. I miss the things that made work a joy and made me who I am.
