Dr Sonia Chauhan completed her training in Pediatrics from NewYork/Cornell University. She served as a Chief resident for two consecutive years managing trainee residents in a large residency program. She then followed with fellowship training in Neonatology from Wayne State University, Michigan. She has served Sugarland community for last several years previously as Neonatal Intensive care and Nursery Director of Methodist Sugarland and Memorial Hermann Sugarland hospitals. She also previously served as Chairperson of Department of Pediatrics and OBGYN at Memorial Sugarland hospital. As a Board certified pediatrician with about 16 years experience, she is well qualified in the preventive care of healthy children and those that are acutely or chronically sick. With subspecialization in Neonatology, she is uniquely qualified and experienced to take care of normal newborns and those that require long term speciality care due to prematurity, congenital or critical problems at birth. She is dedicated to the health and wellbeing of newborns to age 18 and is involved in all aspects of your child's health, including their physical, mental and emotional well being, in every stage of development. She understands health issues can be confusing, so she will work with you to answer any of your questions. She also welcomes prenatal visits to address any concerns and give anticipatory guidance to new or expecting parents.And because she believes healthy habits start early, she will offer you helpful advice, tools and tips to ensure that your child stays well.
