This year at the POST Houston Diwali Festival, the energy was very different from our past events at the POST. From the moment we arrived, before we even had a chance to finish setting up, people of all ages and cultures were drawn to our booth—curious to know who we are, what we do, and how they can learn more. 🌟

We had the opportunity to share about our Awakened Zen Master, Thich Dieu Thien who she is, what a Buddha truly means, and how Awakened Meditation is different from mindfulness or other practices. Many asked about simple and honest questions such as why we shave our heads, what she teaches, and how her Awakened Path helps us return to the Clear Water within. 💧

The highlight for many was seeing the 4 Water Jars, Zen Master’s signature Awakened Tool, known as the Clear Water Demo. This simple yet profound teaching sparked deep curiosity and connection.

Throughout the day, more than 200 people stopped by—many asking questions, taking photos, and beginning their own journey to discover retreats, classes, and the path to return to their True Self. 🙏✨

A heartfelt thank you to T2 Dance Company and POST Houston for organizing such a beautiful event that brought so many hearts together. 💜

So much gratitude to Awakened Zen Master Thich Dieu Thien for giving us the chance to go deeper, more direct, real and honest this time in our daily living to see the truth about ourselves and refreshen our Awakened Purpose no matter where we are. 🙏🙏🙏

We had the honor of having Awakened Zen Master Thich Dieu Thien be a guest speaker at The Wellness Expo in Conroe, TX and all seats were packed... others standing by the door curiously waiting to see what Awakened Zen Master was opening for the spiritual seekers at the presentation.

The atmosphere was very open and serene as Awakened Zen Master Thich Dieu Thien began welcoming and opening Wisdom Mind for all people from many different backgrounds.

Amazingly within 30 minutes, Awakened Zen Master turned on the wisdom light for people in the room; some left crying with happy tears and others left ready to find out more about how to begin walking the Awakened path under her guidance.

And there also was a big big surprise! Awakened Zen Master Thich Thong Hoi, Co-Founder of Suoi Tu Meditation Center in Dallas, Texas, appeared as well! Both Awakened Ones spent time getting to know the people at the expo, answering deep questions, and signed books for everyone that stopped by the booth!

We are so very grateful for both Awakened Ones to be together with us at this expo, awakening all people wherever they are on their journey, and continue to always support and guide us to becoming Buddhas in this lifetime.

We sincerely bow to both living Buddhas, Awakened Ones Thich Dieu Thien and Thich Thong Hoi, for your living example and your Great Vow to Awaken the world!

🕯️✨ Grand Filial Piety - Vu Lan Ceremony 2025 | August 31, 2025

Respectfully to the two Awakened Ones, Thich Dieu Thien and Thich Thong Hoi,

Respectfully to the Awakened Sangha,

Filial piety has always been a deep concern for countless children toward their parents. The days and months pass quickly; black hair gradually turns silver, yet the great debt of gratitude in life remains unpaid. Even when fulfilling worldly filial duties—providing parents with all the necessities of life—looking deeper, our parents are still immersed in the joys and sorrows, the suffering of human existence…

Oh, the shining example of Great Filial Piety, Venerable Maudgalyāyana, which has endured for more than two thousand five hundred years and still radiates today. In his time, he clearly realized that even complete worldly filial devotion could not save his mother from the suffering of birth and death, from the endless cycle of transmigration. Therefore, he bade farewell to his mother and wholeheartedly followed the World-Honored One to walk the full path of Awakening.

When he attained Enlightenment and Liberation, he became the bridge connecting the World-Honored One, the Noble Sangha, and his mother, who was being tormented in hell. Ultimately, through the sincere supplication of Maudgalyāyana, the Enlightened Power of the Buddha and the Noble Sangha ignited within Lady Thanh Đề the light of Wisdom. Miraculously, as soon as that light was lit, her mind awakened, vast and open; all delusions, resentments, greed, and selfishness simultaneously dissolved, and Lady Thanh Đề was immediately freed from hell.

If Maudgalyāyana had not been illuminated by the Buddha’s light of Wisdom—had not gone through the stages of Opening, Revealing, Awakening, and Merging with the Buddhas Source—how could he have attained Enlightenment, Liberation, and become the bridge to connect his mother with the Buddha and the Noble Sangha, leaving this shining example of Great Filial Piety for all time?

Today, so that beings may form a connection with the Awakened Ones each member—Sisters and Brothers of the Phổ Môn – Suối Từ Sangha—always carries in their hearts the deep concern to become Buddha, attain Liberation, and save beings. They carry candles like lights of Wisdom, traveling everywhere to form bonds of Awakening with many people, ensuring that the light of Wisdom from ancient times continues to shine today and forevermore.

Each time a candle of Wisdom is lit, it is a moment of deep connection with the Awakened One, with the aspiration that our own Wisdom may also be ignited, and that through this bond, we may bring Awakening to our parents of this life and past lives, as well as to all beings in the world. Only when one fully merges into the awakened nature of the Buddhas and Awakened Ones can the darkness of ignorance, delusions, and suffering be dispelled within oneself—just as in the shining example of Great Filial Piety of Venerable Maudgalyāyana in the past.
