At Sugar Land Endocrine & Thyroid we diagnose and treat disorders of the entire endocrine system, including diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity, thyroid disease, and other hormonal issues. We specialize in treating the entire spectrum of diabetes- including Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes as well. We provide comprehensive diabetes education, nutritional, exercise, meal -planning advise to our diabetic patients as well as provide guidance for managing obesity. We use up to date technology with insulin pump therapy, offer pump training as well as options for continuous glucose monitoring. We strive to offer excellent medical care while ensuring our patients understand the basics as well as complexities of their medical illness. We strive to keep all patients happy and strive to achieve the same goal. Dr. Shreya Parikh is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. She has her roots in Sugar Land, having grown up there and graduating from Clements High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin. She attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at University of Texas Health Science Center - Houston. After completing her residency, she underwent specialty training with a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of Texas Health Science Center - Houston. She trained in specialized procedures such as thyroid ultrasounds and biopsies as well as management of various endocrine cancers. After completing fellowship, she joined Diabetes America, a group private practice, and specialized in intensive treatment of diabetes both type 1 and type 2 as well as metabolic disorders. In 2015, she left and founded Sugar Land Endocrine & Thyroid. Dr. Parikh treats all endocrinologic disorders, but she has expertise in managing all forms of diabetes, including Type 1, Type 2, gestational diabetes, and drug-induced diabetes. She is an active member in numerous professional Endocrinology societies, including American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist, American Diabetes Association, Endocrine Society, Texas Medical Association, and Harris County Medical Society. Dr. Parikh resides in Sugar Land with her family. She is married with three children, and her husband is a pediatric pulmonologist at Texas Children's Hospital. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, exercising, and spending time with her family. She is fluent in English, Spanish , Gujurati, and Hindi.
