Our friend and colleague has experienced a devastating loss. Last night Heather Brosnan and her family lost everything in an apartment fire. With the holidays upon us, we could not imagine not having a warm bed or the amenities of home and want to try and help her and her family get back on their feet. Tis the season for giving and who is more deserving of our support than no other than our hardworking Histotechnologist. Heather is the kindest, warmest, and most loving human being and we cannot believe she has experienced such a great lost. Please help us support Heather and family by donating. IN THE LAB, MOHS SURGERY EDITION 🧪

After collecting tissue samples, Dr. Fakhouri uses a microscope to check for any remaining cancer cells. If some are found, he will mark their location on a map to know precisely where to focus on during surgery. He can even locate small areas in one piece of tissue!

Calcification of a cyst happens when there's a buildup of calcium in the body tissue. Some calcifications are painless and others can cause serious complications ‼️ Treatment depends on the severity and location of the cyst.

For this case, Dr. Fakhouri and the team had to surgically remove it by making a small incision 👍.
