A Message From the TABC President
Dear TABC Members,
The season is underway — best of luck to all teams,
coaches, and student-athletes. I hope this season brings
growth, competition, impact, and memorable moments
for everyone.
Texas High School Coaches Day was Friday,
November 7. Let us be reminded of the dedication and
leadership coaches bring to our communities.
Upholding the Texas Way and the true spirit of
competition means we push our players to be their best
while treating opponents, officials, and fellow coaches
with professionalism and respect. We have the greatest
job there is!
A quick reminder for coaches: your TABC
membership includes access to our extensive video
library through Coaches Insider. You can access the
library directly from our website at
https://tabchoops.org/coaches-insider/. Please take
advantage of these resources.
A challenge and a request: please honor your
commitments. I’ve received numerous reports of teams
cancelling games or withdrawing from tournaments
without notifying opposing or host coaches. These
actions create unnecessary problems and strain
relationships across our basketball community. If
circumstances require a change, communicate
promptly and respectfully — ideally well before the
event. If you are leaving a program or a coaching
change occurs, please inform the opponents you have
already scheduled so they can make appropriate
arrangements.
As always, if you need anything during the season —
support, guidance, or concerns — please reach out. Best
of luck!
