🦷 Why Your Mouth Is the Gateway to Your Whole Body Health 🌿

Did you know that your oral health can impact everything from your heart to your hormones?

As a Biological Dentists, we look beyond just cavities and cleanings. We consider how dental materials, airway health, and chronic infections (like hidden root canal issues or gum disease) affect your entire body.

✨ Here are a few facts:

Mercury from old fillings can leach into your system, affecting your nervous system.

Chronic inflammation in your gums is linked to heart disease and diabetes.

Breathing through your mouth at night can lead to poor sleep, fatigue, and even affect facial development in children.

We believe in biocompatible materials, supporting the body’s natural healing ability, and collaborating with other holistic health providers to give you the best care possible.

✅ If you're struggling with chronic symptoms and haven’t looked at your dental health—you might be missing a big piece of the puzzle.

Let’s treat the cause, not just the symptoms.

We are *HALF WAY* through 2025 - can you believe it!?

We started out the year talking to our patients about 4 keys points:

✅ Mouth-Body Connection
✅ Hydration
✅ Airway
✅ Movement

And we are proud to say that we continue to talk about these important points with our patients. You may be surprised, but as Biological Dentists, we care about so much more than just your teeth.

These four important topics all play an integral role in your total body health and because we care about our patients and their total health, we are diving into more discussion than just the standard dental questions like "how often do you floss".

If you're looking for a dental experience that is helps you to make the connection between your oral health and your overall health, we'd love to see you in our office!

We pride ourselves on utilizing the most advanced technology available to ensure high-quality care for our patients, such as the Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) scanner, a revolutionary tool in the field of dental and medical imaging.

The CBCT scan provides a comprehensive view of our patients' oral and facial health. Unlike traditional 2D X-rays, a CBCT scan produces detailed 3D images that allow us to thoroughly examine the intricate structures of the teeth, jaw, and the supporting anatomy of the mouth. This advanced imaging capability is crucial for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning.

The benefits of a CBCT scan extend beyond dental health. We also utilize this vital information to evaluate our patients' airways. By identifying potential obstructions or deficiencies, we can address issues that may impact our patients' sleep quality. These insights are instrumental in helping our patients manage conditions like sleep apnea, ultimately leading to better sleep and improved overall well-being.

One of the remarkable aspects of the CBCT scan is that it is a non-invasive, pain-free procedure that takes just a few minutes to complete. Despite its simplicity, the scan offers significant advantages by enabling us to create highly personalized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each patient. These customized plans are designed to not only address immediate concerns but also to enhance the long-term health and wellness of our patients.

We believe that investing in state-of-the-art technology like the CBCT scanner underscores our commitment to providing exceptional care. By harnessing the power of advanced imaging, we can achieve more accurate diagnoses, more effective treatments, and ultimately, better health outcomes for our patients. Whether it's for routine check-ups, complex dental procedures, or sleep evaluations, our use of leading technology ensures that our patients receive the best care possible.

🦷 Is your dentist SMART certified? 🦷

We are proud to be SMART certified by the IAOMT. Our SMART certification means we have been trained and tested on the safe removal technique for mercury amalgam fillings.

Do you have silver-colored fillings in your mouth? Do you know they contain mercury? Studies show that these fillings continue to emit mercury v***r, which is absorbed and retained in the body - in many of our vital organs!

Everyone experiences different reactions (if any) to different materials, so it may not be obvious if you're body is having a negative reaction to mercury amalgam fillings. There are many potential side effects from these fillings ranging from headaches to insomnia to respiratory problems. If you've felt off or just not right for a period of time and you have silver fillings, you may be having a negative reaction to the substance.

In our office, we do not use mercury amalgam fillings for new fillings and we help our patients by safely removing their mercury amalgam fillings to improve their overall health. Contact our office today to learn more information about how mercury amalgam fillings may be impacting you and the steps we take to keep you safe during the removal process!

Tell us the truth - when you think about your wellness journey, how often are you thinking about your mouth as an important part of the journey?

Traditional dentistry has been so focused on just the teeth for many years causing us to forget that our mouth is an integral part of our total health. As the main entry point into our body, the mouth is responsible for serving as the first line of defense or in some cases, the first line of failure, for protecting our bodies.

As biological dentists, we are dedicated to focusing on our patients' total health by tying together the wellness of your mouth and the wellness of your body.

One way to do this is to focus on creating healthy habits that support your whole body. Daily improvements such as proper hydration, balanced nutrition and adequate and healthy sleep have total body benefits and will help support your wellness journey for all the parts of your body.
