To our veterans scheduled to see Dr. Crawford: we are planning to be open for scheduled appointments, but please check for road closures along your entire route before attempting to travel to the office. In general, routes from Tennessee and most of Avery County are blocked. Veterans from Morganton should travel through Lenoir to US 321 instead of NC 181 as US 221 and NC 105 in Avery County are blocked. Please do not travel if you don't feel safe! Contact VES or QTC directly (depending on who you are scheduled with) to reschedule if you don't think you can make it.

Good morning folks,

I was successfully able to make it to Sugar Mountain office yesterday! I'm happy to report that the office sustained no damage; we do have power and water (boil advisory is in effect), but no internet and poor cell service, much like the rest of Avery County. For the time being, the best way to contact me is via email, understanding that if I'm at the office or dealing with an intermittent service outage at home, it will be some time before I can get to it. I will be at the office Wednesday and Thursday mornings for anyone who needs me, but I encourage everyone else to stay home!

For aesthetics, we are temporarily putting servicds on hold until we get internet and clean water restored.

Good morning folks! Just like everyone else in the mountains, we have been impacted by poor cellular service, no power and no water. I have not attempted to drive from Boone to the Sugar Mountain office to check on it, but hope to do so soon. Once I can verify it's safe for me to see patients, we'll connect with scheduled patients ans figure out how to make things work. In the meantime, I encourage everyone to stay home, be safe, check in with friends periodically, and pray for the safety of our first reponders, utilities crews, and road crews in the days to come!

On Valentine's Day, we naturally think of those we love, and I love my wife, my kids, my family and friends! You know what else I love? I love that a number of our patients lately have called with a concern, and we were able to either see them that day or talk through their concerns and take a watch and see approach. I love being a physician to such a great group of patients, and being able to say "yes, I can help you with that!"
