We are grateful for our community and those who care for the cemetery. In a show of dedication, the board members have opted to personally cover the costs of a new decorative white fence for the parking lot, as the old posts were in disrepair. Moreover, two board members have donated funds for section signs to help families locate graves more efficiently. The board's efforts reflect their commitment to enhancing the overall appearance and functionality of the cemetery.
Our goals for the coming year will be raising funds for new chat for both parking lots and continued mowing.
Every board member is grateful for the support we have received.

In the face of unprecedented destruction caused by a recent weather event, the Summersville City Cemetery stands resilient, calling upon our community's spirit to help restore its historic grounds. The severe weather resulted in extensive damage, with several trees uprooted and others badly damaged, necessitating specialized removal to safeguard the revered headstones, with estimated costs totaling $1000.00. The historic area, featuring stones dating back to the 19th century, also incurred significant damage, necessitating repairs estimated at $1000.00, to reclaim its dignity. In response to these unforeseen expenses, we are launching a beacon of hope - a fundraising initiative aiming to raise nearly $2000.00. Despite initial challenges due to a lack of donations, our determination remains unwavering. The cemetery board, committed to preserving the dignity and appearance of this sacred site, invites the community and families of loved ones buried here to join hands in revitalizing the cemetery. Together, we can make a difference. Donations should be sent to Summersville City Cemetery, PO Box 113 Summersville, Missouri 65571.

We are preparing for our annual fall cleanup of the cemetery prior to the final mowing of the year. We kindly request that if you wish to retain flowers on the ground surrounding a grave, please do so. This enables the cemetery caretaker to remove grass near the headstone, preventing fallen leaves from accumulating by the stone throughout winter. Please note that this pertains to flowers on the ground only, excluding headstone arrangements. We are diligently working to maintain the cemetery's appearance.
