Many of you know that Logan County residents are covered in our membership in the case of a flight that occurs within the county (including some neighboring counties).

Mother's Day is approaching fast!

I spoke with a lady last week and the conversation went like this:

MEMBER: "Hello, my name is _____, and my daughter bought me a membership last year, and I just wanted to check on it and see if I need to renew it. I don't want to lose the membership!"

ME: "Oh, that's wonderful! I can help you with that...that's so thoughtful of her to buy this for you!"

"Yes! I was so surprised and so thankful. My husband was flown a few years back (he passed away) and it was very stressful for our family afterwards. We didn't know if insurance was going to cover the cost of the flight or not."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Yea, insurance can be tricky!"

"They paid roughly half of the cost. But it left me with a pretty large bill. Luckily, we got it paid, but it was hard. So my daughter bought me a membership, just in case. So we won't have to worry about that again!"

I have had people recently ask me what I do for work, exactly. They see my posts, but they really don't know what it is.

Common questions are:
"You sell helicopter insurance, don't you?"
or
"Are you on the helicopter?"

NO and NO.

You see our helicopters (Air Evac in this area, but other names in other areas within our network of 38 states) in the air responding to medical emergencies all time. Or sitting at the hospital taking a patient from one hospital to a higher level of care, right?
What you don't see is me saving lives on the ground. We don't want your air emergency to become a financial emergency in the aftermath of a traumatic health experience. So, we offer membership so that you can avoid that $$$$$. IT IS NOT INSURANCE 🙃

Have yall ever had to deal with insurance? Claims process and denials? Co pays and deductibles? Yeah, sometimes it's not what it's cracked up to be. There are NO denials as a member. You're simply covered 100%

Membership simply covers anything and everything that your insurance will not pay that could be dumped in your lap after your emergency. NO BILL, NO PATIENT RESPONSIBILITY at all.
I have personally seen membership cover that 20% left upon a patient after their "80/20" insurance coverage. (I've also seen non-members with a patient responsibility that is 🤭

That can be a hefty amount, right? It's not cheap to fly and staff our units with the best of the best, and we are required by LAW to bill for services. That's just how it is.

Membership with us, protects you. It's that simple.

This is a household membership--one price for everyone in the home. One price.

That's what I do.
Companies can add membership to their benefits package, or make it available even cheaper than it already is. ($99 or less a year, y'all)

Some things to consider:

👉If you have a MEDICAL emergency at work, and have to be flown, most compensation programs will fight that, and in most cases, deny payment for the medical emergency.

👉Make sure you know all your insurance coverage FACTS on air medical coverage. The terms and conditions rarely get read. You see the word "coverage" and misinterpret that as "full coverage". It's your insurance, KNOW it.

👉Let's say your insurance coverage pays 80%. You are still responsible for 20% patient responsibility--that can be a substantial amount to just "come up with"!

🧐If you're not sure, get membership with AirMedCare Network, folks. It's a small price to commit to when compared to the "what if's".
