Big communication win today! 👏

During this session, our client was playing Zingo and used their AAC device to request a break when they needed one. Moments like this are huge because it means the child is learning how to advocate for their needs and communicate independently.

Communication doesn’t always look the same for every child—and that’s okay. AAC devices help many children express themselves, reduce frustration, and participate more in play and learning.

At Shout Eat Play, we can also help families navigate the process of obtaining an AAC device through Talk To Me Technologies if a child qualifies.

Every child deserves a way to communicate. 💙

✨ Exploring New Ways to Communicate! ✨

Today at Shout Eat Play we began trialing an eye-gaze AAC device — a powerful tool that allows children to communicate using only their eyes 👀💬

During our trial, our kiddo was able to explore pages for:

🎨 Drawing
🚗 Cars and trains
🎶 Music and singing
🫧 Bubbles
🧸 Imaginative play

Eye-gaze trials help us determine whether this access method is the best fit for a child’s body and communication needs. It’s all about giving them more opportunities to express themselves, make choices, and participate meaningfully in their world.

We’re excited to see how this trial continues and what it unlocks for our little communicator! 💛

Tiny towns, BIG language! 🚗🏡
Our kiddos love creating their own adventures with this Melissa & Doug magnetic town scene! With tons of little pieces, we get to practice labeling, describing, WH-questions, pretend play, spatial concepts, and even storytelling (“Where is the cat going next? Who’s driving the red car?”).

Perfect for ages 3–5 and such a fun way to build vocabulary while playing.
