At 10 weeks the baby can squint, swallow, and frown. Baby teeth are forming in the gums. The heart resembles a small version of a newborn baby’s heart. A lot going on to be 2 1/2 inches long!

The blade portion of a standard house key is close to 2 inches long. At 9 weeks, so is a baby in the womb. The baby is now called a fetus, meaning “little one”. Nerves begin to function and the baby will move away if touched through the uterine wall. Remarkable!

At 8 weeks after conception every organ is present. The kidneys are beginning to function. The baby’s eyelids and palms of the hands are sensitive to the touch. Fascinating!
