Michael H. (Mo) Morrison, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on April 13, 2026, at Atrium Health Floyd.

Mike was born to Willia Dean Sentell on December 26, 1954. He graduated from Chattooga High School, Class of 1973, and went on to attend Jacksonville State University, where he proudly played baseball as a short stop. He dedicated 35 years of his career to International Paper, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment.

Mike enjoyed not only Georgia Tech football, but all sports. He also loved coaching his children as they were growing up, fishing and traveling. He will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for sports, and the many years he spent providing for those he loved.

Mike was preceded in death by his brothers, Hill Morrison and Keith Morrison.

Mike is survived by his spouse of 30 years, Amy Morrison; his children, Preston Morrison, Keith Morrison, Mackenzie Morrison, Jaden (Josh) Johnston, and Jackson Morrison (Jess Owin); five grandchildren, Stella Morrison, Ashby Morrison, Aubry Morrison, Charleigh Morrison, and Emmy Johnston; two sisters Monique Boulware and Marquita Petty.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A private graveside service will be held later.

Pallbearers will be Preston Morrison, Keith Morrison, Mackenzie Morrison, Jackson Morrison, Matt Holbrooks, and Randy Mitchell.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ethan Nixon, Mike Hawkins, Jeff Meadows, Jeremy Guinn, George Maddux, Jerry Wilson, Steve McGill, Gary Hardeman, Smokey Howell, Alex Sentell and co-workers of International Paper.

Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Karl Gregory Bryan, age 67 of Centre, AL passed away Friday, April 10, 2026 in a Rome hospital.

Mr. Bryan was born in Harvey, Illinois on December 13, 1961, son of the late Harold Bryan and Rae Joy Marbutt. He had attended the Living Waters Minstries and was a retired carpenter. Mr. Bryan was a veteran of the United States Army and was a master carpenter. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to hunt and fish.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bryan was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Ruth Bryan; two brothers, Tim Bryan and Danny Ray Bryan; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Bryan is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Samantha Bryan, Jousha Bryan, Timothy and Sherrie Bryan and Blake Whitten; daughters and son-in-law, Nina Bryan and Alisha and Josh Green; Companion, Jill Farris; brothers, Kane Bryan and Jesse Smith; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside and Interment Services for Mr. Bryan will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. in family plot of Johnson Cemetery with Rev. Billy Wright officiating.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Bryan, Blake Whitten, S’john Shelton, Richard Tapp and Draven Green.

Mrs. Linda Dian Cochran Hunt, age 71 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, April 10, 2026 in a Rome hospital.

Mrs. Hunt was born on January 6, 1955, daughter of the late Leonard Walker Cochran and Georgia Mae Goodson Cochran. She was a member of the Wayside Baptist Church and was a retired LPN, serving 17 years at NHC-Rossville and 12 years at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Hunt enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by sister, Deborah Ann Price and a brother, Harold “Pee-Wee” Cochran.

Mrs. Hunt is survived by her husband, JW Hunt; daughter and son-in-law, Penni and Mike Ware; sons and daughters-in-law, Nick and Abby Hunt and Adam and Nikki Hunt; sisters and brothers-in-law, Angie and Dewayne Dooley and Wanda and Kenny Chaney; brothers and sister-in-law, Robert and Gina Cochran and Terry Cochran; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chester and Gail Hunt; grandchildren, Caden Ware, Sawyer Hunt, Campbell Hunt, Brycen Hunt, Brianna and Hunter Woody, Braylea Hunt, Tabren Barnett, Gabe Barnett and Ky Hunt; one great granddaughter, Georgia Woody; friends, Margaret Dillard, Darlene Bearden and Linda Dillard; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service for Mrs. Hunt will be held Moday, April 13, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Lloyd Gilreath and Rev. Kenny Chaney officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Skylar Chaney, Brycen Hunt, Caden Ware, Gabe Barnett, Tabren Barnett and Coy Hefner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Al Smith, Marcus Blalock and Hunter Woody.

Mr. Denver Lee Scott, age 45 of Menlo, Georgia passed away Monday, March 30, 2026 at a Chattanooga hospital from the results from a previous stabbing.

Denver was born in Dallas, Texas on April 2, 1980, only son of Connie Sue Young. He was a Carpenter by trade and was an avid outdoorsman that loved hunting.

Denver was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Bert Young of Chattanooga, TN and Ed and Patsy Scott of Bethalto, Illinois; and an uncle, Johnny Young.

Denver is survived by his mother, Connie Sue Young; son, Landon Scott; daughter, Carlee D. Sapp; and a sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Deston Everette. Denver will be missed by an uncle, Gary Scott and two aunts, Linda Nichols and Chris Lamere.

In accordance with Denver’s wishes, he will be cremated and the family may hold a private memorial service at a later date.

Mr. Jerry David Hightower, age 59 of Trion, Georgia passed away Friday, April 3, 2026 in Rossville, Georgia.

David was born in Cartersville, Georgia on March 22, 1967, son of the late Jerry Lou Hightower and Carolyn Lyons Adams. He was self employed in the construction industry and was of the Christian Faith.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a brother, Jody Hightower.

David is survived by a his fiancé, Brenda Cooper; daughter and her companion, Valerie Hightower and Jess Mayo; brother, Tim Hightower; sister, Shay Adams; and nieces and nephews, J’quarius Wright, Ken’Darius Griffin, Cashius Brown, A’Shiyah Watkins, Lorenzo Johnson, Shawn Hightower, and Milanna Brookins.

Graveside and Interment services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, April 14, 2026 in the Macedonia Cemetery in Kingston, GA.

Mr. Matthew Ralls Jennings, age 42 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, April 6, 2026 at his residence.

Matthew was born in Rome, Georgia on February 23, 1984, son of Mary Cathy Colbert Brown and the late Don Hamilton Jennings. He was self employed and was a former volunteer with the Chattooga County Resource Center.

In addition to his father, Matthew was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ralls Hamilton Jennings and Billie Jean Jennings and maternal grandparents, D.F. Colbert and Ruth Mae Brimer.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Cathy and Joe Brown; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jesse and Cynthia Jennings and Brandon and Cari Crider; sister, Holly Jennings and her fiancé, Eric; nieces, Jazmin Crider and Madisin Crider; and nephews, Chris Jennings and Justin Jennings.

Mr. Grady Horace Payton, age 89 of Trion, Georgia passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at his residence.

Mr. Payton was born in Summerville, Georgia on December 11, 1936, son of the late Glenn Payton, Sr. and Hattie Tudor Payton. He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and a member of the Sr. Adult Sunday School Class. He was retired from Hays State Prison, working as a Maintenance Engineer. He also worked with Echols Appliances. Mr. Payton was an avid Atlanta Braves Fan and loved camping and gardening.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Payton was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jo Payton and Lenora Culver; and five brothers, John Payton, J.L Payton, Sidney Payton, Billy Payton and Glen Payton, Jr.

Mr. Bobby Luke Smith, age 76 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at his residence.

Mr. Smith was born in Lafayette, Georgia on October 28, 1949, son of the late Charles W. Smith and Velma Lucille Mann Smith. He was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills after 37 years of service and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed working on lawnmowers, fishing, reading his Bible, watching John Wayne movies, and spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler Lee Palmer; brothers, Ronald Smith and Danny Smith; and sisters, Susie Ballenger and Mary Lou Schrader.

Mr. Charlie DeWayne Hogue, age 49 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026 in a Rome hospital.

DeWayne was born in Rome, Georgia on October 5, 1976, son Cathy Annette Arp Gorham and the late Charlie Monroe Hogue. He had been employed with Bateman Food Services and was of the Baptist faith. DeWayne was a graduate of Chattooga High School and had recently been a resident at the Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

In addition to his father, DeWayne was preceded in death by his step-father, Johnny Gorham; step-mother, Treva McGuire; maternal grandparents, Jeannette Noles and Archie Noles, Sr.; and his paternal grandparents, Audra and Fred Hogue.

DeWayne is survived by his children, Corbin Hogue, Brianna Hogue and Holley Hamlin; mother, Cathy Gorham; brothers and sisters-in-law, Josh McGuire and Mikkiaela Elam McGuire, and Kevin and Brooke Gorham; step-sisters, Kimberly, Rachel and Shauna; grandchildren, Elijah Hamlin and Braxton Hamlin; and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Mrs. Cathy Marie Longshore, age 68 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, April 6, 2026 at her residence.

Mrs. Longshore was born in Summerville, Georgia on October 11, 1957, daughter of the late Ferral Ward and Beatrice Stinnett Ward. She was retired from the Quality Control Department at Roper and attended the Waterville Baptist Church. Mrs. Longshore enjoyed working in her flower garden, bargain shopping and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Longshore was preceded in death by her husband, Starlin Wallin.

Mrs. Longshore is survived by a son and his fiancé, Trey Longshore and Jennifer McMillian; daughter, Meranda Struve; sisters and brothers-in-law, Deborah and Lanny Harrelson, Cindy and Bob Helms and Lora and Jerry Brown; brother and sister-in-law, Rickey and Christy Ward; grandchildren, Mallory(Tyler) Gall, Breanna Longshore, Bryant Longshore, IV and Christian Longshore; great grandchildren, Addilynn Longshore, Elianna Longshore, Leanora Longshore and Amara Longshore; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Linda Louise Masters, age 81, of Trion, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2026, at her home.

Born on September 14, 1944, in Trion, she was the beloved daughter of the late Jule Stephens and Louise Martin Stephens. Mrs. Masters retired from the Roper Corporation and was a dedicated member of the Baptist faith. She earned her cosmetology license in the early 1980s and joyfully worked in various salons as well as from her home for over three decades. She found great pleasure in tending to her yard and flower beds, was an avid golfer who competed in the Roper Golf League, and was a devoted Atlanta Braves fan.

Mrs. Masters was preceded in death by her daughter, Kim Williams; her grandson, Steven James Fountain; and her brother, Eugene Stephens.

She is lovingly survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Lexi Fountain; brothers and sister-in-law, Larry Stephens and Ken and Hilda Stephens; five grandchildren, Addison Fountain, Autumn Fountain, Lee Gass, Ian Lowe, and Brayden Stoker; two great-grandchildren, Oakley Lowe and Emma Gass; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at the Chapel of Coffman Funeral Home with Pastor Ashley Penton officiating. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery. Mr. Jamison Lee “Jamie” Hankins, age 46, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the residence of his mother in Menlo, Georgia. Born on December 18, 1979, in Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia, Jamie lived a life characterized by dedication to his craft, devotion to family, and a zest for the simple joys of life.

A man of the Baptist faith, Jamie was self-employed as a carpenter, a profession that not only reflected his skill and hard work but also his commitment to building and creating with care and precision. His love for fishing brought him tranquility, while his reputation as the ultimate backyard grill master echoed the warmth and generosity he shared with those around him.

Jamie is survived by his mother and step-father, Betty and Kelly Wentz, who stood by his side throughout his life. He is also lovingly remembered by his daughter, Macy Edgerton-Davis, and her husband, Garrett, as well as his sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Bobby Teems. His brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Lindsey Hankins, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, carry forward his memory in their hearts.

In accordance with Jamie’s wishes, he will be cremated, and his family plans to hold a private memorial service at a later date. The intimate nature of the ceremony reflects the close-knit bonds he cherished.
