Mr. Oravel Lee Shellman, age 86 of Summervile, Georgia, formerly of Houma, Louisiana passed away Friday, February 27, 2026 at his residence.

Mr. Shellman was born in Allegany, New York on March 12, 1939, son of the late George Edward Shellman and Mildred Arlene Jackman Shellman. He was retired from Cavins Corporation, where he worked in the oil field as a dispatcher and sales and service representative. Mr. Shellman was an active member of the Chattooga Senior Center and was a member of two AA groups, one here and one in Rome.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Shellman was preceded in death by a son, Michael Lee Shellman; brothers, Wiliam Shellman, Robert “Bob” Francis Shellman and Ralph Shellman; and sisters, Shirley Jean Holloway and Linda Kay Brady.

Mr. Shellman is survived by a sister, Alice Kight; brother-in-law, Levon Brady; nieces, Charlene Turnmire and Addie Holloway; nephew, John Brady; and a number of additional nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Funeral Services for Mr. Shellman will be held Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 11:00 A.M, in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Jake Darden officiating. Private Interment will be in Houma, Louisiana.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Mr. Charles Steven Lineberger, age 70 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026 at his residence.

Mr. Lineberger was born in Norfolk, Virginia on May 5, 1955, son of the late Charles Lee Lineberger and Carol Jean Mays Lineberger. He was a jack of all trades and had worked as a LPN, warehouse technician and had attended Culinary School. He enjoyed cooking, painting and collecting antiques and was an avid reader.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lineberger was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Lineberger.

Mr. Lineberger is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Alan and Dominique Lineberger; sister and brother-in-law, Dianna and Kelley Tribble; brother and sister-in-law, Ira and Sabina Lineberger; grandchildren, Ja’Dorin Lineberger, Joseph Alan Lineberger, Jr., Derihiana Marie Lineberger, Dawnyell Marie Lineberger, Jacobi Lineberger and Jalani Lineberger; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In accordance with Mr. Lineberger’s wishes, he will be cremated and the family will hold a memorial service at the Saratoga Court at a later date.

Ms. Nancy Alene “Nanie” Light, age 85 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026 in a Rome hospital.

Ms. Light was born in Rome, Georgia on December 18, 1940, daughter of the late Jeddy S. Light and Mildred Frances Ashworth Light. She was a member of the Sonrise Community Church, where she was active in the Nursery and the Fellowship Hall Ministries. She loved God and enjoyed serving her church. Ms. Light was employed with the former Farmer’s and Merchant’s Bank, retiring as assistant Vice President after over 35 years of service. Following her retirement, she worked with her brother as a decorator in the wallpaper business. In her down time, she enjoyed working in her yard and reading.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Light was preceded in death by her siblings, Faye Nell Duke, Frances Maxine Jones, Patsy Ann Woods, Jerry Maxwell Light, Carole Sue Ash, Deborah Jean Warnock and Michael Lewis Light; and a nephew, Steven Jones.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Light was preceded in death by her siblings, Brenda Raynell Wiseman, Faye Neil Duke, Frances Maxine Jones, Patsy Ann Waits, Jerry Maxwell Light, Carole Sue Ash, Deborah Jean Warnock and Michael Lewis Light; and a nephew, Steven Jones.

Funeral Services for Ms. Light will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Marcus A. McCrickard officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Larry Weesner, Shannon Bennett, Rhett Bennett, John Critchfield, Zeb Whitehead and Tshombe High. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Women’s Sunday School Class and members of the Sonrise Community Church.

Mrs. Amy Nichole Sparks, age 49 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, February 16, 2026 at her residence.

Amy was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on April 22, 1976, daughter of Barbara Jones Sparks and the late Clarence Sparks. She was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church and was a stay at home mom and nanny. Amy was an avid music lover and enjoyed photography and photographs.

Amy is survived by a daughter, Kayla Goudy; “Son”, Justin Sword; mother, Barbara Sparks; boyfriend, Shaun Burleson; brother, Chris Layne; sister, Becky Sparks; former husband, Lloyd Cook; grandchildren, Marleigh Goudy, Shawn Goudy and Thunder Sword; aunt, Debra Jones; Nana Holloway, Papa Holloway; and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Born in Macon, Georgia on June 30, 2025, Master Waylon is the son of Christian Dwayne Warren Dodge and Christian Victoria Wells; brother of Rafe Christian Dodge, grandson of Philip and Danielle Wells, Ashley and Clifford Cook and Justin Dodge; great grandson of Terry and Lucy Adams and Tammy Christy; nephew to Jace Spencer Wells and great nephew to Barda and Travis Swinford.

Master Waylon was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Angela Rae “Angie” Wells; uncles, John Wells and Eric Bell; and an Aunt, Gretchen Lynn Dodge.

Mrs. Mary Ruth Bryant, age 61 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, February 16, 2026 at her residence.

Mrs. Bryant was born in Cartersville, Georgia on March 22, 1964, daughter of the late David Harold Lowe and Pauline Patterson Lowe. She had been employed in the packing department of Mt. Vernon Mills.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by a grandson, Austin Jarrell.

Mr. Tony Garrett Gilreath, age 67 of Summerville, Georgia passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at his residence.

Mr. Gilreath was born in Rainsville, Alabama on September 29, 1958, son of the late Herman Gilreath and Jeanette Gilreath. He was retired from Heritage Wire in Fort Payne, and was an avid fan of all college football, especially the Alabama Crimson Tide.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gilreath was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Marie Gilreath.

Mr. Gilreath is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Dustin Kown; brother, Michael Gilreath; grandchildren, Heaven Shaw, Destiny Gilreath, Serena Kown, Hunter Gilreath and Alyssa McElhaney; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Mickey Alton “Mountain Man” Silvers, age 57 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026 in a Rome hospital.

Mickey was born in Rome, Georgia on November 15, 1968, son of the late Thomas Silvers and Kathleen Corbin Silvers. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and prior to retirement, had been employed as a slasher helper with Mt. Vernon Mills. Mickey enjoyed grilling, woodworking, thrift store shopping and going to Trade Day, but his favorite activity was spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Mickey was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Silvers; maternal grandparents, Lee Corbin and Nellie Hill Corbin; paternal grandparents, Paul and Louise Silvers; uncle, “Little” Morris Silvers; and special friends, Danny Davis, Dale Bain and Tim Perry.

Mickey is survived by his wife, Marilyn Henderson Silvers; daughter and son-in-law, Brittany and Austin Campbell; brother and sister-in-law, Rickey and Brenda Silvers; sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and Jamie Mitchell; four grandchildren, Trae Campbell, Anna Silvers, Zayden Campbell and Xander Campbell and seven nieces and nephews.

Mr. Charles Edwin “Ed” Franklin, age 77, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence on February 6, 2026.

Born on May 22, 1948, in Clarkesville, Georgia, Ed was the son of the late Charles Frederick Franklin and Nettie Withrow Tench Franklin. Throughout his life, Ed was deeply involved with the Pennville Church of Christ and had a fulfilling career as a Project Manager with Fox and Brindle, as well as a contractor with the Georgia Finance State Investment Commission.

A proud veteran, Ed served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He had a passion for fishing, loved attending NASCAR races, and was an enthusiastic participant in drag racing. Above all, Ed treasured the moments spent with his beloved family.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Shirley Franklin; daughters and sons-in-law, Lorie and Chad Brown, and Becky and Kevin Payton; sister, Patricia and brother-in-law Kenny Cox; and grandchildren Kaitlyn (Raelyn) Payton and Makaila (Levi) Noles, along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Heyman Hospice Team – Michelle, Jeanette, Lisa, and Kim – for their compassionate care.

Mr. William Sidney Henderson, age 85 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, February 6, 2026 in a Rome hospital.

A native of Summerville, Georgia, Mr. Henderson was born August 18, 1940, son of the late Elisha John Paul Henderson and Cecil Annie Gaylor Henderson. He was a member of the Pennville Church of Christ and was retired from Beaulieu, where he was employed as a plant manager. Mr. Henderson was an avid animal lover, having several cats and dogs. He was an absolute handyman, enjoyed yard work, woodworking, watching Westerns and eating at the Menlo Restaurant.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Faye Henderson; grandson, Nicholas Simpson; sisters, Josephine Ratliff and Joan Ratliff; and a brother, Johnny Henderson.

Mr. Henderson is survived by sons, Nathan Henderson, Terry Hampton, Marty Hampton, Rodney Henderson and Russell Henderson; daughters, Rita Brooks-Sussman, Beverly Simpson, Kim Hurley, Tina Maynard, Kelly Yarbrough and Cindy Broyles; brother, Greg Henderson; sisters, Edna Cavin and Ann Strawn; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Sidney Edward Bryson, age 74 of Gaylesville, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at his residence.

Mr. Bryson was born in Chattooga County, Georgia on February 9, 1951, son of the late Charlie Bryson and Lucy Drucilla Dawson Horton. He was a member of the Menlo Church of Christ and was retired from the Cotton Warehouse at Mt. Vernon Mills. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bryson was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Bryson and Thomas Bryson.

Mr. Bryson is survived by his wife, Sheilah Murphy Bryson; son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Aubree Bryson; brothers and sister-in-law, William and Connie Bryson and George Horton, Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Tim Rutledge; grandchildren, Dylan Cavin, Devon Bryson, Chloe (Nate Reeves) Bryson; Elijah Bryson, Ezekiel Bryson, Emma Edgeworth and Brailey Edgeworth; great grandchildren, Ryker Cavin and Raya Cavin; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lanie Webb Wilson, age 59 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at her residence.

Lanie was born in Rome, Georgia on February 15, 1966, daughter of Cheri Crane Parker and the late Lewis Wilson. She was a graduate of Trion High School and was employed with Master Cuts as a cosmetologist. In addition to her father, Lanie was preceded in death by a brother, James Wilson.

Lanie is survived by a son, James Webb; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Castro and Maurice Guffey; mother and step-father, Cheri and Jackie Parker; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff “Fro” and Christie Wilson; step-brothers and sisters-in-law, Jackie Parker, Jr. and Tam and Leslie and Tonya Parker; grandchildren, James Webb and Paisley Webb; and nieces and nephews, Tyler and Brooke Wilson, Kristen and Andy Pangle and Matthew Wilson.
