🎉 A Joyful Start to the New Year! 🎉

Today, our hospital welcomed the very first babies of the year — tiny bundles of hope arriving right on New Year’s Day. There’s no better way to begin 2026 than with new life, new beginnings, and new families starting their beautiful journeys.

💙 Congratulations to new mom Shantrell on the birth of baby boy King, born at 1:58am this morning. King weighs 8 lbs, 11 oz and is 21 inches long. King’s older siblings Legend, Royal, Dream, Prince and Melody can’t wait to meet their little brother!

💙 Congratulations to new parents Lais and Esdras on their first child, baby boy Daniel, born at 5:02am this morning. Daniel weighs 9 lbs 2 oz, and is 21.5 inches long.

To our dedicated care teams: thank you for ushering these little ones safely into the world. And to our New Year’s babies: welcome — the world is already brighter with you in it.

This morning, our Level III NICU was filled with the sweetest surprise — festive stockings for our little ones. From Rudolph and hot chocolate to gingerbread men and Hershey’s Kisses, our team loves making Baby’s First Christmas feel extra special for families spending the holidays with us.

Compassion and high‑quality clinical care are essential to every patient’s experience, but it’s the third element — connection — that truly transforms care. This season, our colleagues have gone above and beyond to connect with families in meaningful, lasting ways.

If you’re struggling with depression, these tips from the National Alliance on Mental Illness may help you manage it better so you can enjoy holiday festivities:

🎯 Be aware of your personal triggers.
✍️ Try journaling or writing a gratitude list to shift your perspective.
📅 Do your best to avoid overscheduling – it’s okay to say no.
🛑 Set boundaries with people who make you feel negative emotions.
🧘 Make time for relaxation, deep breathing or meditation to help ease stress.
🍷 Drink in moderation as alcohol can amplify negative emotions.

Good Catch Award | Congratulations to Stefani Ankeny, Occupational Therapist!

While completing the evaluation of a patient, Stefani the patient’s abdomen was hard and distended. Stefani notified the care time, who did a bladder scan and found that the patient had greater than 2 liters of urine in her bladder. A Foley was placed immediately, and no harm came to the patient.
