e nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), meeting the highest possible standards and assuring consumers they will receive the best quality services at our agency. We are licensed by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC). The Dorchester Alcohol and Drug Commission (DADC) and Dorchester Counseling Services (DCS) are dedicated to providing area residents with high quality yet affordable evaluation, treatment and prevention services for alcohol, to***co and other drug problems, as well as other personal or family issues that may require counseling. These services will reduce the negative health, social and economic consequences of substance use disorders and other behavioral health problems. We are committed to providing the highest quality of services possible in safe, pleasant surroundings. All of our clinical staff members are highly trained and experienced professionals in the fields of counseling and substance abuse. Our staff includes licensed therapists, licensed social workers and counselors specially certified to provide substance abuse treatment. Counseling and educational approaches are individually designed to meet each person’s needs. We always encourage the involvement of family members and significant others in the treatment process. For those under the age of 13, family participation is required. In an effort to constantly provide the best care possible and to meet the needs to persons seeking services, we always welcome your input, both formally and informally. There is a Suggestion Box in our lobby, which you may use at any time to offer comments or suggestions for improvement. We also conduct various types of surveys, including periodic follow-ups, with your permission. All of this information is used in a constant effort to continually improve client care. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. Treatment Services extend beyond regular office hours Monday through Thursday to 8 p.m. Payment plans are developed to meet the client’s financial situation.

This month is Social Wellness Month, to encourage people to practice healthy social behaviors and build meaningful relationships with others. Social wellness is all about fostering positive connections, not just with family and friends, but also with our communities, colleagues, and strangers we meet along the way. From maintaining strong communication skills to making sure we take time for self-care, this month is a great reminder of the importance of connecting meaningfully with others.
