Mind Care OVERCOMING CHILDHOOD TRAUMA - Why should you live your life with mental agony due to pain caused by o Website: www.mindcare.us

Healing does not have to be rushed. Rebuilding takes time. Give yourself grace.

Dr. Dana Philossaint shares that this difficult season is often when God begins to remind you who you really are. Who were you before that relationship? What dreams did you have for yourself? What passions has He placed in your heart?

That person did not complete you. Your calling did not leave when they did.

Go forward. Set boundaries. Do not lose yourself again. Healthy relationships matter, so do not isolate yourself from the people God has placed in your life. And please, do not beat yourself up.

You are still here. You are still loved. You are still called.

It is okay to grieve the life you thought you would have. You may have pictured growing old with someone who is no longer there. You may have worked years toward goals you can no longer reach. That kind of loss cuts deep because it touches your identity, your hope, and your expectations. Dr. Dana Philossaint shares a truth you need to hear: a failed marriage does not mean you are a failed person.

Your marriage may have failed, but you still have a place to go. Your position may have ended, but your potential is still there.

Dr. Dana Philossaint wants you to know that healing takes time. It takes honesty, reflection, prayer, and sometimes the support of people who understand. The road you are walking can lead you forward with peace instead of resentment. You don't have to be stuck in that hurt forever. You can heal without bitterness.

Choose faith over fear. There is still purpose ahead.

Your mind is like a throne room. Only the King should sit there. Yet so many of us have allowed critics, old voices, and painful memories to take the seat of authority over our thoughts.

Dr. Dana Philossaint reminds us that words are powerful. They can crown you or they can confine you. If you grew up hearing "stupid" or "too sensitive" or "a problem," those labels can become unwanted rulers in your mind, shaping how you see yourself.

But those labels were never meant to define you. God calls you something different. He calls you loved, chosen, forgiven, redeemed, and wonderfully made. That is your true identity.

It is time to dethrone the voices that do not belong.

How do we begin replacing old, wounding words with God's truth? Dr. Dana Philossaint lays out a path.

1. Acknowledge the damage. Healing begins with honesty. You cannot remove what you refuse to face.

2. Challenge the lies. When "I'm not good enough" rises up, pause. Ask yourself: Who am I going to believe? God or that person? If it is not from God, it does not belong.

3. Repeat God's truth. The mind learns a new language the same way it learned the old one: by hearing it over and over again. Say it until you believe it.

4. Carry yourself differently. Identity shows up in your posture, your choices, your boundaries. Walk like someone who knows they are valuable.

5. Surround yourself with people who speak truth. Choose environments that echo what God says about you.

Believing God takes time for some people. That is okay. By His grace, He can take His rightful throne in your mind.

Life can wound us in unexpected ways. A job you poured your heart into, gone. A marriage you believed would last forever, ended. Moments like these leave us confused, embarrassed, deeply hurt.

In those seasons, bitterness tries to move in. But Dr. Dana Philossaint reminds us: healing and bitterness cannot live in the same heart. True healing starts with honesty. "This is painful. I am disappointed. Now I have to change course." That's real. But it does not control your future.

And forgiveness? It doesn't mean forgetting. It doesn't mean what happened was okay. It doesn't always mean reconciliation. It simply means releasing the weight so you can finally breathe again.

A lost job does not mean you've lost your purpose. A physical setback does not mean your life has lost its meaning. Dr. Dana Philossaint wants you to hear this: God is not surprised by your story. He's not confused about what didn't work out. And He is certainly not finished with you.

You don't have to pretend the pain isn't there. You can acknowledge the good that was, and still trust that new seasons are ahead.

If unity doesn't mean erasure, what does it mean?
It means two complete people walking together. It doesn't mean losing your voice, your dreams, or your passions. As Dr. Dana Philossaint teaches, God designed marriage to complement you, not to consume you. You are meant to love deeply and still be whole.

Can mental health be both research-based and faith-based? Dr. Dana Philossaint says yes. Healing is most complete when we combine the practical tools of modern research with the timeless wisdom of Scripture. It’s about your mind, body, and spirit working in harmony, guided by both truth and evidence.

"What spirit do you bring into a room?" It’s a powerful question from Dr. Dana Philossaint. When someone hurts you, striking back feels natural. But your reaction is a choice. The energy you choose to bring, whether it’s anger or patience, actively shapes the atmosphere and the outcome.

Choosing to be nice in a tense moment is more than good manners, it's neuroscience. Dr. Dana Philossaint breaks it down: that calm response shifts your body from a stressed "fight or flight" state into a healing "rest and recover" mode. It lowers your tension, clears your thinking, and becomes a building block for your own healing.

Your worth isn't defined by your marriage. It's defined by Christ. Even if you feel lost in a relationship, God never forgets who you are. Marriage is meant to reflect God's love, not erase your identity. It's possible to honor yourself and your spouse at the same time.

Dr. Dana Philossaint's course provides the God-model, live support, and practical exercises to help you re-discover who God says you are.

Our Story

A close friend of mine struggled with depression for years, and I felt a heavy burden to help her get well, but it wasn’t working. Even though I’ve always loved helping people, and my counseling career gave me some great tools, the recovery was only incremental. But, realizing that 90% of our counseling clients experienced traumatic childhood events (including my friend), I shifted my approach from the traditional to a more wholistic way, actually solving their root cause. Now, I enjoy great satisfaction by helping my clients gain a whole new outlook on life with joy of heart and peace of mind.
