That’s right! Carbs are not bad. In fact, they are the best source of energy for our body.

👉 The best carbs to eat often:
Fruits, veggies, beans, steel-cut oats, and potatoes should be at the top of your everyday carbs list.

👉 Carbs to eat sometimes:
Breads, pasta, rice, veggie juice, granola, pancakes, and waffles.

👉Carbs to eat very sparingly:
Fruit juice, soda, ultra-processed snack foods, fast food, fried food, pastries, candy, and anything with 12+ grams of sugar per serving.

🌟Portion Hack🌟

1 Cupped hand = 20-30g of carbs

Women should have around 4-6 servings (or cupped hands) per day of carbs.

If there is 1 thing most of us should work on when it comes to our nutrition it's eating REAL food. Ie; it doesn't come in a wrapper, nor does it live in your pantry. 😬

The more I learn about food and the body, the more I have learned how much better we will LOOK and FEEL if we skip the processed/packaged foods and choose real, whole foods.

I can go on forever about this, but the bottom line is that long-term improvement to your body (meaning fat loss, improved muscle tone, and a stronger metabolism) starts with simply eating the real thing.

👉 So this week I challenge you to think twice before you grab that bag of cheez-itz at 4pm, or the Starbucks muffin on the way to work. 👀

It's not about eliminating the snacks and treats entirely, but about making them 10% of our diet, instead of the majority. 🌱

🌟My personal nutrition goal this week is to cook dinner at home 4 nights in a row, take leftovers to work for lunch for at least 3 days and grab an apple instead of a salty snack when I'm making dinner for my kids. 🌟

Drip IV is coming to The Clubhouse!

You’re invited to book your drip IV today, and join us on Sat. April 27 for the ultimate recovery session!

🌟We'll also be doing 2 free drip giveaways - 1 winner from the 7:30am Strong 45 class and 1 winner from the 8:30am Strong 45 class.🌟

Please note, winners MUST be able to stay on-site and receive the drip immediately after the class ends.

Your Fitness vs. Your Nutrition.

Let’s clear this up for the final time, shall we?

You should think of your overall health (physical and mental) as 2 sides of the same coin.

Side A: Your Fitness

Bide B: Your Nutrition

They are both important! You need both to improve your energy, change your body, and feel better in all aspects of your life.

However, they DO NOT cancel out or make up for ignoring 1 side of the coin. ❌

👉Example:

Working out consistently in any modality (spinning, strength, etc) does not mean you can eat whatever you want and expect to see changes in your overall health.

🥒NUTRITION = responsible for: keeping you alive, feeding your brain, weight gain, and weight loss.

✅You MUST be in a caloric deficit to lose weight, regardless of how consistently you work out.

💪FITNESS = responsible for: strength, stamina, healthy metabolism, mental health, bone health, and changing the look of your body.

✅You MUST be consistent with your fitness (like strength training 3-5x a week) to see and feel changes to your body’s muscle mass, regardless of how well you eat.

Today, we're celebrating Casey!

Here’s the most surprising thing about The Clubhouse community that Casey didn’t expect:

“I think I was initially worried that it was going to be an intimidating place to workout, but it’s quite the opposite! I go with friends and I also see friends I wouldn’t normally see. I've also made new Clubhouse friends! It’s so friendly and welcoming. The Clubhouse is a place to get in a quick, hard workout, but also be able to laugh and smile from start to finish.”

You don’t need as much cardio as you think. Yes, it burns calories in the moment, but it doesn’t do much for long-term toning/fat loss/weight loss!

However, heavy weights, big effort, and less time per workout = stronger, leaner bodies with more muscle, less fat, and higher caloric burn throughout the day.
