Prior to 12,000 years ago, hunter-gather societies walked 5-15miles/day following packs of caribou, elk, etc., in order to survive. If they didn’t they died. Then they figured out farming. Now they didn’t have to follow those animals and thus began the shift. At that time their bodies were no different than our own today.

Think about what those humans did, ate, listened to, watched as compared to what we do today.

Think about how they MOVED as compared to what we do today.

They pooped, ate, socialized and sat in a deep squat when not moving. There were no squaty-potties, ergonomic chairs or Theraguns to loosen you up

Shoulder pain is complex. your neck and head have significant influence over the position of your shoulder blade. your shoulder blade houses the socket of your shoulder joint.

If your neck is compromised (headaches, neck pain, jaw pain, etc.) then you may just have issues with your shoulder blade position, ribcage and thus your shoulder joint.
-
It’s easy to overlook a neck and cranium when someone comes in wearing a sling and states that their shoulder is “killing” them, but you have to look at the whole person and listen.

HOW are you lookin’ at me is what I would say!

your head & neck position speaks volumes about how you feel & what’s below it.
-
When you look/turn/side-bend your head & neck … you use your inner ear (vestibular system,) your eyes (ocular system) as well as your teeth (occlusion) to decide which way you will lean - important since you don’t want to fall when you turn/tilt/side-bend your head.
-
all of the above is normal - until you start to bias/favor one position over others. Let that little snowball start rolling down that long steep hill until it smashes into you and creates pathology!

Wouldn’t it be grand if you never had that snowball in the first place?!
