On October 10, our Summit Oaks team came together for a day of reflection, connection and self-care, celebrating the importance of mental health for everyone, including those who care for others.
We spent time outdoors on our beautiful hospital grounds enjoying team-building activities, meaningful conversations and a few fun moments with henna tattoos, yoga and healthy smoothies. These experiences served as a reminder that nurturing our own well-being helps us continue to provide compassionate care to those who need it most. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible.

Did you know that 1 in 5 Americans experience a mental health issue each year? Let’s break the stigma by separating myths from facts because understanding leads to compassion.
Do you know the difference between a Service Animal and an Emotional Support Animal? Both play important roles in mental health but in different ways. Service animals are specially trained to perform specific tasks. Emotional support animals provide comfort and companionship.
At our facility, we’ve seen firsthand how animals bring healing and joy. Over the years, our pet therapy dogs have touched the lives of countless patients and even our staff by offering moments of calm, connection and comfort.
Here are just a few of the special therapy dogs who have made an impact on our community.

PHP vs. IOP — What’s the Difference?
Understanding the levels of care in mental health treatment is key to finding the right support. Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers structured, daytime treatment for individuals requiring intensive support, while our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides a more flexible, part-time approach to therapy. Each program is designed to meet different needs on the path to recovery.
