This month, Pitt launched its inaugural class of Chiropractic Students. Today, Troy announced they will launch a College of Chiropractic with in its university system. Very good news for the future of the Chiropractic Profession. Personally, I'm just glad my Clemson Tigers played them before they had Chiropractors to treat their football players.

Troy University is excited to announce its newest doctoral program, the Doctor of Chiropractic.

This is just the second Doctor of Chiropractic program at a public institution in the nation and the first in the southeast.

A recent study of 26,000 patients with back pain who were prescribed Neurotin, Gabapentin, Lyrica were observed. The risk of dementia and cognitive impairment nearly doubled in those patients. This is pretty alarming. These drugs were initially used to treat seizures but they weren’t very effective. So if there are alternatives to managing complicated back problems like spinal stenosis or disc degeneration, we think they should be considered. We believe our Flexion/distraction-spinal decompression which is a very safe, gentle procedure to control your pain is much preferable option to this class of drugs. We’ve all seen the devastating effects of dementia. We encourage you to talk to your doctor about this.
