5 essential tips for contact lens wearers!

Keep your eyes healthy and comfortable with proper lens care and regular check-ups.

Always Wash Your Hands First
Before touching your lenses or eyes, wash your hands with soap and water, then dry with a lint-free towel. This prevents bacteria from getting into your eyes.

Never Sleep in Your Lenses (Unless Prescribed)
Sleeping in lenses not designed for overnight wear greatly increases your risk of serious eye infections, including corneal ulcers.

Use Fresh Solution Every Time
Never “top off” old solution in your case. Always empty, rinse, and refill with fresh multipurpose solution. Never use tap water or saliva!

Replace Your Lens Case Regularly
Your contact lens case should be replaced every 1 to 3 months. Bacteria can build up even if you’re cleaning it properly.

Follow the Wear Schedule — No Exceptions
If your lenses are meant for 2 weeks, don’t stretch them to 3. Overwearing contacts can reduce oxygen flow and lead to irritation or infection.

Keep a Safe Distance — Enjoy fireworks from at least 500 feet away.

Never Let Kids Handle Fireworks — Sparklers burn at up to 2,000°F and can cause severe eye injuries. Children should never handle any fireworks, even those that seem harmless.

Know the Emergency Steps If an Eye Injury Occurs
Do not rub the eye
Do not rinse with water or apply pressure
Cover the eye lightly with a shield (like the bottom of a paper cup)
Get immediate medical attention from an eye care professional
