With great sadness, the Jane Goodall Institute confirmed this morning the passing of the organization’s founder, Dr. Jane Goodall, age 91 who died peacefully in her sleep while in Los Angeles, CA for her speaking tour in the United States.

Dr. Goodall’s life and work not only made an indelible mark on our understanding of chimpanzees and other species, but also of humankind and the environments we all share. She inspired curiosity, hope and compassion in countless people around the world, and paved the way for many others — particularly young people who gave her hope for the future.

In 1960 Dr. Goodall established the longest running wild chimpanzee study in Gombe National Park, Tanzania which continues to this day. She pioneered and sustained the Jane Goodall Institute’s community-centered conservation initiatives across the chimpanzee range for over four decades. Her legacy includes the creation of JGI’s international environmental and humanitarian youth program Roots & Shoots, which is actively driving change in 75 countries and counting around the world.

A group from the Neptune corporate office spent an afternoon volunteering with Feeding South Florida, and helped sort 9,542 pounds of food, which will provide more than 8,000 meals for those in need.
September is Month, to raise awareness about food insecurity and mobilize communities to take action against hunger in the United States. Organizations like Feeding South Florida coordinate efforts to educate the public, encourage donations and volunteerism, and advocate for policy changes to address the root causes of hunger and poverty. We're so honored to be part of this effort.

Neptune Sun City Service Manager Olivia Moser and Pre-Arrangement Adviser Jackie Von Bank staffed a table at the annual Pebble Creek Health and Wellness Fair, and had a great time connecting with residents of the 55+ community and meeting local healthcare professionals.

Neptune Sun City Service Manager Olivia Moser, Office Coordinator Jennifer Pearce, Funeral Arranger Erik Halvorsen and Pre-Arrangement Advisor Jackie Von Bank sponsored a table and donated an Italian-themed raffle basket for
Sun City Rotary Club’s Quarta Serata Italiana Annuale,
at the Royal Oaks ALF. Proceeds from the event provide college scholarships for high school students and camp scholarships for residents who meet specific low-income guidelines. Theater Works, People of Faith Foundation, and Billy’s Place have also received grants.

Neptune Sun City Service Manager Olivia Moser and Office Coordinator Jennifer Pearce spent Thanksgiving morning participating in the 2024 Arizona Road Racers Thanksgiving Classic 10 mile-5K-1 mile fun run at the Peoria Sports Complex, and donated toys for their drive on behalf of Neptune.

Neptune Sun City Service Manager Olivia Moser and Pre-Arrangement Advisor Jackie Von Bank participated in the 12th Annual Sun City Home Owners Association Lifestyle Expo at Sun Dial Recreation Center, visiting with folks and letting them know what Neptune is all about. The team donated a gift card for their raffle from very popular golf shop Van's Golf Shops, right next to our location.

“This is an organization that we’ve just joined, and we’re really looking forward to connecting with folks in the community,” said Olivia, who's already made friends with the Grinch!

Neptune SunCity celebrated their grand opening with an open house. Sales and Services teams greeted guests, provided tours and gift baskets and served ice cream. Service Manager Olivia Moser shared some uplifting words and cut the ribbon. Thank you to members of the Phoenix Care Center! Senior VP of Services Tim Rodgers and Regional Service Manager Laurie Elliott were there too. Congrats, Sun City!

In honor of Be an Angel Day, Neptune Sun City Service Manager Olivia Moser and Office Coordinator Jennifer Pearce catered a lunch from local restaurant Pita Jungle for the staff at Thunderbird Inpatient Care Home-Hospice of the Valley in Glendale.
They also brought bags of goodies for all the nurses and staff, and in gratitude and recognition of three nurses who were on call during the passing of three patients we took into our care in August, they included a “Willow Tree” painted figure.
“We are often asked in the funeral industry how we do this every day,” Olivia said. “We ask ourselves all the time how hospice folks do it every day. They are absolutely amazing, and the work they do is truly moving. They are angels to our families, and to us. That’s why we wanted to recognize them as a whole, and the three nurses specifically.”
