As being apart of the Leadership Sun Prairie class of 2025, in order to graduate we needed to do a class project.

The leadership class decided to do an 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗖.𝗔.𝗥.𝗗.𝗦. 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝘁 through the Sunshine Place. This is something they are always in desperate need of and what better way to help then to start a collection of these items!

From 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝘁𝗵-𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟭𝟱𝘁𝗵 a number of area businesses will be collecting new, unopened underwear, teen bras and undershirts in support. You can drop these items off at a number of listed locations during this time.

You support is greatly appreciated and in support of such a wonderful cause and place.

Teaching the importance of kindness, especially in the workplace, has been a rewarding experience with the 4th graders during the BEP session this past Wednesday.

During our session, we delved into the significance of kindness by exploring the book "We're All Wonders" and engaging in conversations about embracing diversity and treating each other with respect.

The core message conveyed was that we are all unique wonders, and it's essential to show kindness to one another regardless of our differences.

I shared real-life examples from the workplace with the students, illustrating how kindness plays a vital role in client relationships. One insightful student even humorously questioned, "If you're your own boss, couldn't you fire yourself?"

Quick on my feet, I responded, highlighting that by not showing kindness to everyone, it could impact client retention and ultimately lead to consequences even for oneself. The discussions sparked were enlightening and filled with open-minded perspectives. 🤩📕🏫

Hello and Happy Thursday!

As we continue to get further into January, we are still here providing the same great service. Not much will change in the coming months, but we are still limiting the number of new clients to referral only.

Along with that, as of February 1 our pricing will be going up by $10 for all services except:
-Therapeutic Stretching
-30-minute massage
- All in-home and on-site services

Pricing will be as such:
30 minute - $60
60 minute - $100
90 minute - $130
120 minute - $175

Package pricing will reflect this change as well and will still be a great way to save a little money. Anyone who still has a package or gift certificate reflecting the old price, will still be honored at the original price.

We are excited to continued to share this journey with all of our current and upcoming new clients in the year ahead. For those of you who don't know me or are wanting to understand a more of who and what I am about, let me introduce myself:

I am Kayla Stroud-DuSavage, the heart and soul of 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆. I have been a licensed massage therapist in Wisconsin for over a decade with a deep-rooted passion for helping others. Since earning my massage diploma in 2013, I specialize in pain management, soft tissue injuries, rehab techniques and geriatrics, bringing a sense of well-being to clients across various settings.

My extensive experience ranges from working with geriatric clients in senior centers and nursing homes to providing therapeutic services to athletes, including those in Cirque Du Soleil and through intense athletic events. I hold certifications from RockTape, the Center of Pain Management/Orthopedic Massage, The Upledger Institute and many others.

In my personal time, I enjoy kayaking, hiking, golfing, volunteering, traveling, and spending time with my three dogs and husband.

A question that I can a lot from people who are very active is, "Can I work out after my massage?" Great question!

You should wait at least 24 hours after a massage before doing strenuous exercise, such as weight lifting, running, or high-intensity aerobics. Light exercise, like walking, swimming, or gentle stretching, is usually okay after a massage.

Here are some reasons why you should wait to exercise after a massage:
𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘅𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Massage helps your muscles relax and repair, which is important for recovery. Strenuous exercise can undo this relaxation and put strain on your muscles, which can lead to injury.

A friend and I checked out a new business in town yesterday, The Cats Brew off of Montana Ave in Sun Prairie.

Such a great concept! There cafe is separate from the cat area so anyone can come in and enjoy a cup of coffee and look at cats or even reserve a time to go play with them.

Coffee was good, cats were adorable and a very calming environment. There building runs off two different HVAC systems so if your allergic to cats you can still come in and enjoy the environment of coffee, reading material and more.

Definitely worth checking out with a friend or to host a small event. The cats are also available for adoption.

What a community based day!

We spent our morning at East High School with the BEP for the Reality Rocks 🪨 program:

“This high school-level financial simulation is held three times a year for over 600 students. In this program, businesses act as representatives of various life factors to help students learn about the realities of the adult financial world. Students are asked to budget a given amount for housing, food, daycare, insurance, and more. “

Later, we dropped off gifts for the Spirit of Giving-Adopt-A-Family 🎁 program through the Sunshine Place. Ringing in the holiday season with good cheer.
