Tight hips don't just stay in your hips.

They pull on your low back.
They limit how you move.
They affect your posture without you even realizing it.

And if you sit for most of the day, they're probably tighter than you think.

This stretch helps.

Hip flexor stretch. Back knee down.
Tuck your pelvis under.
Press your hips forward until you feel the stretch in the front of your back hip.
Hold 30-60 seconds.
Switch sides.

Do this daily and your hips will start to open up.
Your low back will feel the difference.

We all took vitamin D tests. Most of us were lower than we expected. And we work in a wellness office.

Vitamin D affects your immune system, your energy, your mood, and how well your body heals.

When your levels are low, everything slows down. You're tired even when you sleep enough. You get sick more often. Your body takes longer to recover.

Most people in Wisconsin are deficient, especially after winter. The sun just isn't strong enough for half the year.

Grab a weighted vest or backpack. Walk your normal route. That's the whole workout.

It builds strength in your legs, core, and back. It improves your posture. And it gets you outside moving without beating up your joints.

Start with 5-10 pounds. Add more as it gets easier.

You've probably noticed more people walking around with weighted vests or backpacks lately. There's a reason for that.

Walking with weight helps build strength in your legs, core, and back. It helps with posture. It's good for your cardiovascular health. And honestly, it's good for your mental health too.

Just you, the weight, and the walk. Some people prefer a weighted vest because it distributes the weight evenly across your chest and back. I like having the weight on my back because it draws my shoulders back and helps with my posture. Doesn't matter how you do it. As long as you're adding weight and moving, you're getting the benefits.

If you're just starting, I'd suggest somewhere between five to ten pounds at your normal walking distance. Increase after a couple weeks from there.

It's called rucking.

And it's one of the simplest ways to build strength without high impact. Walking with weight builds your legs, core, and back. It forces better posture because you have to stay upright.

It's good for your heart. And honestly, it's good for your head too. Just you, the weight, and the walk.
