So many ask me about smoothies. It seems we all want a fast forward button to health. Any diet that drops weight quickly, taxes us metabolically.
Let's talk movement. Every partical of our physical being moves, from organelles within cells to our skin when we shiver.
Chewing food communicates with our stomach which then releases enzymes to aid in digestion. Chewing food helps maintain cognitive function, it benefits our teeth, the muscles in the face, our jaw bone, our gums, nerves and esophogus. We are designed to chew our food.
This is not to say that swallowing vitamins, minerals, and occasionally smoothies is negative; it is to say it is not the answer to health.
