Our residents had a blast at Hunan House of Sunnyvale. ❤️ It was authentic Chinese food that was so delicious. We ate family style, sharing our dishes because after all we are family!

We may be a little late, but the Halloween fun was worth the wait! 🎃👻 Our residents judged this year’s costume contest, and the Minions took home the win! 🥇✨ Staff got in on the excitement too, with mummy-wrapping games and a swing at our ghostly piñata. On this Veterans Day, we pay tribute to the courageous men and women who have defended our freedom. Through our almost 20-year partnership with photographer, Thomas Sanders, for our American Heroes: Portraits of Service photography project, we’ve captured more than 1,200 portraits and service stories honoring veterans who reside at Belmont Village communities. We’re collecting food items and clothing for our friends over at Leigh Avenue Studios, which is home to formerly unhoused seniors. For clothing, new or like-new fall/winter clothing, and socks are always needed. This event will take place through the holidays, but we will do drop offs prior to actual holidays.

October is National Vision Awareness Month, and we’re honored to spotlight one of our extraordinary Belmont Village Senior Living Fort Lauderdale residents, Dr. Mark, a distinguished ophthalmologist whose career has shaped the field of eye care for more than five decades. 👁️✨

From pursuing medicine at the University of Miami, to completing specialized training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Mark’s expertise took him coast to coast—working alongside two of the most renowned ophthalmologists of the 20th century.

After serving as a U.S. Army Captain leading the Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic at Fort Huachuca, he went on to establish the Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute, which grew into the largest ophthalmology practice in Broward County. His legacy is one of excellence, innovation, and above all—unwavering dedication to his patients. 👨‍⚕️👏

Today, in retirement, Dr. Mark remains connected to the field through a global network of specialists and virtual Grand Rounds, all while enjoying life at Belmont Village Fort Lauderdale with his wife, Beth. 💙

We’re honored to announce the new American Heroes: Portraits of Service in Texas exhibit at Dallas Love Field Airport. Now on display near baggage claim at DAL, the exhibit showcases portraits of 39 distinguished senior veterans from our four Belmont Village Texas communities who valiantly served their country during World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and peacetime, all captured through the lens of renowned photographer Thomas Sanders. 📸

The installation of the exhibit at DAL marks the third public display of American Heroes: Portraits of Service, following its acclaimed exhibitions at Chicago O'Hare International Airport and Chicago Midway International Airport that continue to draw thousands of travelers and community members who pause to honor the veterans’ remarkable stories. This specially curated exhibition made exclusively for DAL, will be on display near baggage claim through December 31, 2025, so be sure to check it out if you're passing through! ✈️❤️

Meet Beverly, aka “Bookmark Bev,” one of our incredible residents at Belmont Village Senior Living St. Matthews, whose passion for reading has inspired thousands. 💌 For more than 20 years, Bev has handcrafted one-of-a-kind bookmarks, sparked by a personal mission that began when her grandson was diagnosed with dyslexia. She even has two of her bookmarks at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C., on permanent exhibit. What began as a local effort in Louisville schools has grown into a global act of kindness, as her bookmarks have now reached children around the world. Just take a look at the photo; the red dots on the map show all the places where Bev’s bookmarks have found a home. 🌍📌 To Bev, reading is more than a skill; it’s a lifelong gift. 🎁📚❤️

Through his determination and the dedicated support of our therapy team, Charles has regained his independence—now confidently walking with his walker and managing many of his daily activities on his own. 🚶‍♂️💪

At Belmont Village, fall prevention is about more than safety—it’s about helping our residents restore balance, confidence, and the ability to live life to the fullest. ❤️
