Look at that arch expansion 🙌
This patient presented with a severely constricted maxilla, crowding in both arches, and upper lateral incisors blocked out palatally and in crossbite.
With Phase I treatment (RPE + upper and lower braces), we were able to skeletally expand the upper jaw, resolve the crowding and crossbites, and guide proper eruption, setting the foundation for a significantly simpler Phase II once all adult teeth have erupted.
Total treatment time: 14 months.
This case is a great example of why we recommend an orthodontic evaluation around age 7–8. In some cases, early intervention allows us to work with growth to create more predictable, efficient outcomes.
And as a bonus… he was hilarious and kept us laughing the entire time. We love our adorable Phase I patients!
