Over the last 10 years of my work as a mental health professional I have found that songwriting or song - creating is the best tool in music therapy practice with children and senior citizen. It has had a positive impact not only on the beneficiaries but also on their families and other people involved in their care. The process of creating and singing songs seems to come quite naturally to some people who is experiencing emotional and communication difficulties.

The implementation of an evidence based pain therapy including non-pharmacological interventions after surgery is still lacking in many hospitals in India. Music can enhance therapy efficacy and should be used as a non-pharmacological intervention in combination with conventional treatment format.
