πŸ₯— Discover a Delicious and Diabetes-Friendly Recipe

Grilled Chicken with Avocado Salad.

Ingredients:

- 2 skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1 cucumber
- 2 medium tomatoes
- 1/2 red onion
- Juice of 1 lime
- A handful of fresh cilantro
- Extra olive oil for dressing

Directions:

1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Remember to use salt sparingly if you're watching your sodium intake.

2. Heat the 2 teaspoons of olive oil in a grill pan. Add the chicken breasts and grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until thoroughly cooked.

3. While the chicken is grilling, prepare your salad. Cut avocado, cucumber, tomatoes, and red onion into small, bite-size pieces.

4. Place these cut ingredients into a salad bowl. Drizzle with the lime juice and a little extra olive oil. Toss well to make sure everything is mixed.

5. Chop the fresh cilantro and sprinkle it over the salad.

6. Once the chicken is done, let it rest for a few minutes. Afterwards, slice it into strips.

7. Serve the grilled chicken on top of the avocado salad.

This recipe is great for those with diabetes because it's high in fiber, healthy fats from the avocado and olive oil, and is low in carbohydrates. Please consult your doctor or dietitian to ensure that this will suit your specific diet needs.

πŸŽ† Happy 4th of July! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŽ‡

As we celebrate this festive day, let's not forget the importance of taking care of our health, especially when it comes to diabetes prevention. Here are a few tips to keep in mind while enjoying the holiday:

1️⃣ Plan your meals: Opt for diabetes-friendly options at your barbecue or picnic. Load up on grilled lean proteins, fresh salads, and low-sugar beverages to keep your blood sugar levels under control.

2️⃣ Stay active: Incorporate physical activities into your celebration! Play an outdoor game, organize a friendly sports competition, or go for a family walk after the fireworks show. Just remember to have fun and keep moving!

3️⃣ Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of water is crucial, especially when it's hot outside. Stay hydrated throughout the day to help your body function optimally and maintain a healthy blood sugar level.

4️⃣ Mindful indulgence: It's okay to indulge in some festive treats, but be mindful of portion sizes. Pick a smaller portion or try sharing desserts with friends and family.

Remember, prioritizing your health doesn't mean missing out on the joy of celebrations. By making small, conscious choices, you can still enjoy all the fun that the 4th of July brings while staying on track with your diabetes prevention goals.

Wishing you a safe and enjoyable Independence Day celebration! πŸŽ†πŸŒπŸ‰πŸŽ‡

A radiofrequency ablation is a minimally invasive procedure that destroys the nerve fibers carrying pain signals to the brain. It can provide lasting relief for people with chronic pain, especially in the lower back, neck and arthritic joints. If you suffer recurrent pain and you’ve experienced good relief with a nerve block injection, you may be a candidate for a radiofrequency ablation.

The Alpine Center

The Alpine Center was created to focus exclusively on our clients and their needs and outcomes. The traditional healthcare system forces providers to see more and more patients in less and less time, which means that ultimately you are unable to receive the care and guidance you desire. At The Alpine Center we decided this model was unacceptable, so we changed our model. At The Alpine Center, our focus includes: We want to know you as a person, to understand your needs and circumstances, address the problems that are most concerning to you, and collaborate with you to create plans that help you reach your goals and live at your best. Using tools like detailed metabolic laboratory testing, body composition scanning, goal setting, etc., we can track your progress, so you know you are getting results, even in areas you might not be able to see or feel yet. By offering multiple levels of service you can choose how you want to interact with us, in the way that best meets your needs and serves your budget. We created the Alpine Center specifically for patients who are tired of insurance models that limit their healthcare results. We hope to serve you in 2019.
