Great update in the comments on the fires from all those working tirelessly to battle them! We are the the red circle on the left and the fires are in the Boiling Springs Lakes forests so quite a distance away. Thanks to all those working hard! 😊

🚒JUST IN: The wildfire in Boiling Spring Lakes, Brunswick County, has rapidly grown to nearly 700 acres and has very little containment. Dry and windy conditions have allowed for the fire to spread quickly, firefighters are rapidly working to protect homes and businesses. Mandatory evacuations are now in place for Pine Lake, Drayton, Robin, Cherry, and Bordeaux. Along with Bordeaux Pine Lake, Black Hawk Hunters, and Barclay Bluebird Garage roads. Due to increasing fire activity, NC-87 has closed in Boiling Spring Lakes until further notice. Folks attempting to get to Southport Oak Island, St James, and Bald Head should use NC-211 as a detour. It is extremely smoky, so use caution when traveling. Please do not fly drones near the fire!
