🧠 Your Brain Wasn’t Built for CNN (or TikTok News)

Let’s be honest—we all know how to be healthier:

✅ Sleep more
✅ Move more
✅ Eat better (not less)
✅ Stop wasting energy on things we can’t control

That last one? Let’s talk about it.

Whether you believe we were handcrafted by God or evolved from a single-celled organism, one thing’s clear: our brains weren’t designed to handle 24/7 updates about every disaster on the planet. Just 75 years ago, most people didn’t even know what was happening outside their own town—and they were probably better off for it.

Today we’re worrying about problems 5,000 miles away… while ignoring what’s right in front of us.

Here’s my challenge:
Turn off the noise, and turn your attention local.
📍 Pick up trash at a park
📍 Help a neighbor
📍 Take a coffee to a tired teacher
📍 Check in on someone who might need it

We’ve only got so much mental energy—spend it where it actually matters, HERE.

😱 How is it already MAY?! Seriously, can someone explain how the year is flying by?

It’s got me thinking… did you know the average American has roughly 4,000 weeks in their lifetime? If we’re lucky. 🕰️ And if you’re like me, you’ve probably said, “I just need to get through this week…” But when you realize how little time we actually have, it hits differently.

💸 If you had $4,000, how much of it would you be okay with wasting? Probably not much, right? So why do we treat our time any differently?

Here’s my challenge for you this month: Stop wishing away your time. Instead, make every week count.

For me, this week, it’s about health (as always), and I’m finally using that long-overdue gift card to take my wife out on a date night! ✨ Sunday will be all about church and family—hopefully outside if the weather cooperates. 🌞

📣 What did I get myself for my 45th birthday? ..... Well, I got myself in the best shape of my life.

Three months ago, I made a decision: I wasn’t going to coast into 45—I was going to charge into it. I teamed up with my friends at The Agoge, who helped dial in my training and nutrition. And they pushed me harder than I thought I could go.

This wasn’t about aesthetics. It was about showing myself—and anyone else in their 40s who thinks they’re “over the hill”—what’s still possible.

📸 Last: Day 1—no plan, NO abs, just a decision to start.
The only thing fake in these pictures is the spray tan :)

I’ve always trained hard, but never truly committed to eating clean. My excuse? “I work out so I can eat what I want.” Sound familiar? Well, here’s the truth: you can’t outwork a bad diet. If you want real results—like, “how many abs does that person have?” results—nutrition has to be part of the plan.

What I learned on this journey:
✅ Motivation fades—purpose doesn’t.
✅ It’s not about intensity, it’s about CONSISTENCY
✅ Confidence isn’t given—it’s earned by keeping promises to yourself.
