Oconto County Genealogical Society

Oconto County Genealogical Society We are dedicated to researching our ancestors and preserving family histories. We also help others in our research and welcome any new members.

The OCGS, established in 1997, is a non-profit organization of people interested in discovering their ancestral roots and helping others to do the same by preserving, organizing, and utilizing genealogical resources in Oconto County. The OCGS meets the third Monday of each month, March through November at 7:00 p.m. in the Suring Village Learning Center in Suring, Wisconsin. Occasionally we meet elsewhere.

In an effort to leave a footprint; search your family attic discarded shoe box of vintage photographs or newspaper articles which can reillustrate the past. My non-fiction published novel is regarding to Cream City, Vlies blacksmith shop, Elkhorn Creamery, 4 Corners (store and tavern), Ragen's Crossing, Louisville, Victory, or Elm Grove Schools, plus more..

Reminders for Today, Saturday, September 27, 2025:

*Entire building is open normal hours 9 AM - Noon
*Used Book Sale hours are 9 AM - 3 PM

*Main Street is closed in front of the Library for the Harvest Fest Car Show (come see it - they are so cool)

*Come find the Library table at Harvest Fest on Superior Ave close to the bouncers - we have a FREE art activity courtesy of Oconto Area Chamber of Commerce. We are under a tent- with the Library banner on the table.
