I keep things that are special to me posted beside my bed. Before drifting to sleep, I often spend time in prayer, expressing gratitude to God.

Last night, I went to bed feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the women -the mothers- that I've been blessed to work with. Women that God, in His divine nature, placed into my path to love and support during some of the most precious and Spirit-filled times of their lives.

These little notes from clients touch my heart because they serve as reminders of the Kingdom work being done through the birthwork that I am honored to do.

Birthwork, to me, is holy ground.

Let me tell you about this Mama 👏👏

Proud doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about her! She showed me what true perseverance is and handled every twist and turn-of-events during her labor with grace and poise!

I am forever grateful to have gotten to support her during such a special time, but I am even more grateful that now I get to call her friend 💕

I have yet to attend a birth that didn't make me cry, and the birth of this sweet baby girl fell right in line 💕

I feel truly honored to have gotten to walk alongside this family and be part of this mama's journey to motherhood. She showed me what true faith looks like in the face of hard decisions.

My daughter developed a fever of 102.7 today. Instead of running to the Tylenol to get the fever down, I run to my . 🌿

The goal isn't only to bring the fever down- it's got a job to do, after all- but to give her body a little extra support so she can better fight off whatever is causing the fever in the first place.

The herbs that I selected DO have cooling benefits, but they also have immune boosting benefits.

Tea recipe:
1/2 tsp hibiscus petals
1 tsp lemon balm
1 tsp holy basil
1 tbsp fresh mint
1 cup of nearly boiling water
Honey to taste

🌿 Herbal benefits:
-Hibiscus supports body temp regulation, is rich in vitamin C, and encourages gentle detox.
-Lemon balm is a natural antiviral and can help reduce fevers.
-Holy basil also helps reduce fevers and is an antimicrobial, so it helps the body fight infections. -Mint helps to cool the body while easing symptoms such as nausea, headache, and sinus congestion.

It’s amazing what a little warmth, rest, and a cup of healing tea can do. She’s already resting more comfortably, and I’m thankful for these gentle gifts from God’s creation 💕

My top 5 books of 2024 (aside from my Bible, of course). I'm a book nerd 🤓 but below are my thoughts on my top 5.

1. The First 40 Days- an excellent book for new mamas, all about how to nourish the mother's body in the 4th trimester. I sometimes gift this to my doula clients 🫶
2. Simply Living Well- this is my go-to book for low-toxic/non-toxic home swaps! This book offers simple swaps that actually work really well!
3. Forgotten Home Apothecary- want to learn how to make your own home remedies with clear expectations of how and when to use them? Then this is your book!
4. Body into Balance- I spent the MOST time in this book this year. It taught me all about the different types of herbs, and I was able to use that new wisdom in the creation of many of my herbal tea blends.
5. The Lost Book of Herbal Remedies- another EXCELLENT resource to learn about herbs, how to identify them, and how to use.

✨️ When clients turn into friends, then turn into family ✨️

One of the greatest blessings of being a doula is the connections formed along the way. It’s not just about supporting a mother through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum—it’s about walking alongside her, cheering her on, and sharing in the joy of new life.

This sweet family started as clients, but they quickly became friends. And now? They feel like family. 💕

Getting to have moments like this—a Christmas gathering filled with love, laughter, and a handsome baby boy that I had the privilege of supporting into the world—is a reminder of how sacred this work truly is.

To all the families who’ve welcomed me into their journey, thank you for letting me be part of your story. You are forever in my heart. 💜

My client, Kelly, had a beautiful homebirthing experience last week as she welcomed her handsome baby boy into the world! The feelings of joy and love were tangible in the room 🥰

What an incredible blessing it was to get to stand by her side through it all 💜 I'm proud of you, Kelly! May God continue to bless you and your sweet family!
