Braxton Co Animal Shelter Hours: Monday-Friday 10-3
Please call 304-765-2200 to inquire about a dog. Located in Sutton, WV Our hours are Monday through Friday from 10am-3pm.

There is no charge to surrender a dog, but donations toward their care are appreciated. Adoptions fees are $149.00 for male dogs and $169.00 for female dogs. This fee includes spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, parvo/distemper vaccination, kennel cough vaccination, flea/tick treatment and deworming. We are sorry, but we do not have the proper ventilation or capacity to take cats. Our goal is to help control the pet population and place dogs in loving, FOREVER homes. No dog will leave the shelter unfixed, so please do not ask to adopt an unspayed or un-neutered pet. We are very willing to work with reputable 501c3 rescues, so please don't hesitate to call 304-765-2200. Your credentials will be checked. Dogs on stray hold will be placed for adoption/rescue after their 5 day hold has ended. Please call the shelter for info on adoption and speak with our adoption/rescue coordinator Megan.

Meet Celia! 🐶

Celia is around 3y old and she weighs 20.7lbs. Celia is dog social, she is currently rooming with another smaller dog, but she’s the boss. A top of the totem pole personality. Not aggressive and shares food well but she for sure leads. Celia is very sweet and friendly with everyone she meets, humans and animals. She is treat motivated, and loves to be sweet talked. She walks gently on a leash. She didn’t mind our cats, she just looked at them and walked away.
