Ever notice your knee caving in during a lunge? 👀
That’s knee valgus, and fixing it isn’t about yelling “don’t do that,” it’s about better cues.
In this clip, we break down how we adjust our coaching based on the person in front of us:
• Some patients respond best to visual cues
• Others need tactile or verbal feedback
• And sometimes changing how we say it makes all the difference
Why it matters: better cues = better movement = less stress on the knee and stronger, safer mechanics over time.
This is exactly how we coach in the clinic: adapting, problem-solving, and meeting people where they’re at to get real results!
If lunges (or any movement) feel off or painful, that’s your sign to come see us at Concierge PT. We’ll coach it, not just cue it.

Rachael's back to walk you through a simple, effective sequence to get your upper body moving better for the gym, daily life, and injury prevention!
1️⃣ Banded Pull-Aparts: Wake up your shoulders, improve mobility, and prep your muscles for lifting.
2️⃣ Thread-the-Needle (with or without a foam roller): Open up your thoracic spine for better posture and less upper-back tightness.
3️⃣ Knee Push-Ups to Downward Dog: Build shoulder stability, activate your lats, and improve movement through your shoulders and spine.
This routine focuses on getting you moving well, protecting your joints, and making your workouts actually stick.
If you’re feeling pain, limited range of motion, or just can’t hit your movement goals, call or visit us online to book an evaluation at Concierge PT. We’ll help you move better and lift smarter!
One exercise, 3 ways. This is how we build strong, stable shoulders without jumping straight to the hardest version!
Rachael breaks down Shoulder Ys on 3 different levels:
1️⃣ Table Slides: Great for range of motion and control. These help your shoulders move smoothly without compensation, especially if you’re stiff, coming back from pain, or just getting started.
2️⃣ Banded Standing Ys: Adds moderate resistance and challenges motor coordination. This trains your shoulder muscles to work together, not in isolation. Key for posture, reaching, lifting, and overhead tasks.
3️⃣ TRX Ys: Higher load, more demand on stability, and advanced control. This builds real-world strength and shoulder resilience for workouts, sports, and daily life.
Why this matters:
Your shoulders are about stability, control, coordination, and endurance. Progressing exercises the right way helps prevent irritation, improves posture, and keeps your shoulders feeling good long-term.
You DON'T need to jump to the hardest version to get results. You DO need the right version for your body.
