Fall in love with Essential Speech & ABA Therapy!šŸ’•

Essential Speech & ABA is the gold standard for care. We use a collaborative model to help your child prepare for the future. This model uses a team approach to addressing your child's needs, as our BCBAs, SLPs, and OTs work together to craft a treatment plan specifically for your child. Your child’s team meets daily to discuss your child’s progress and adjust plans when necessary.

We’re breaking the status quo in therapy for children diagnosed with Autism. Our company founders are moms first, and business owners second. Their idea to bring three practices under one roof benefits children and parents alike. Their decision to streamline services ensures that your child’s team is in constant communication, giving them a headstart on independence.

Fall in love with Essential Speech & ABA Therapy!šŸ’•

At Essential Speech & ABA Therapy, our BCBAs, SLPs, and OTRs collaborate to create a personalized plan for your child. After learning about your child’s history and past experiences, our team crafts a personalized care plan that honors their personality and goals. Our clinicians are trained to support your child and honor the intricacies that make them unique!

As your little one learns and grows, their team meets frequently to adjust their program. Once your child masters a skill, they’ll discuss the best techniques to reinforce and build on their abilities. If your child has trouble learning a new skill, your child’s team will meet and re-examine their approach.

Your child’s team also incorporates caregiver feedback into personalized plans. If there is a specific problem that needs to be addressed or a skill you would like your child to learn, contact our offices! Your team will adjust your child’s plan and adapt as necessary.

Looking for fun ways to support your child with ASD?šŸ§øšŸš‚ šŸŽˆ Try playing! Playing is an important part of development. Through play, children expand their vocabulary, learn the unwritten rules of social interaction, and master hand-eye coordination. If you’re looking to develop your child’s skills through play, here are some fun at-home toys to help:

šŸ§šŸ¾ā€ā™€ļøDolls: Toys like baby dolls or Mr. Potato Head can help children expand their vocabulary (eyes, ears, mouth, etc.)

šŸ¤– Assembly toys: Toys that can be taken apart and put back together again, like legos, building blocks, train tracks, or robots can help children develop their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

⛺ Play tents: A tent gives your child a cozy environment to play while providing a secure location to retreat when their sensory issues overwhelm them.

🧸 Comfort items: Soft blankets, weighted stuffed animals, and memory foam toys can provide comfort for children with autism! Toys that are easy to carry can travel with them to high-stress environments, like daycares, doctor’s offices, or restaurants.

What’s your child’s favorite toy? Let us know in the comments. šŸ‘‡šŸ¾

My child has been diagnosed with ASD. Now what?

You’ve just learned that your child has ASD. For many caregivers, the news comes as a shock, while others may have expected it. If your child has just been diagnosed with ASD, the first thing caregivers should do is find an early intervention program.

Early intervention programs provide therapeutic services to young children, typically between the ages of two and three. During this critical time, a child’s brain rapidly develops. Early intervention can help a toddler with ASD learn speech, communication, social skills, gross and fine motor skills, self-care, and independence. These skills will help children on the spectrum as they grow and encounter new challenges, like social interactions, classroom environments, and behavior management.

Studies have shown that early intervention benefits children with autism. According to one study about the long-term benefits of early intervention, adults that received these services were more likely to attend regular education classes and have higher rates of employment in adulthood. They were also less likely to require support services later in life.

If you’re looking for early intervention services in your neighborhood, contact Essential Speech & ABA Therapy today! We provide ABA Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Occupational Therapy all under one roof for children ages 18 months to 6 years old. Our programs emphasize early intervention to help your child prepare for the future. Visit our website to learn more! https://loom.ly/V7DgcB8

Signs of Autism Spectrum Disorder in Babies

All children develop differently - but in children under 36 months, developmental delays could be a sign of Autism. There are some common characteristics of ASD that can be observed in babies and young children, but it’s unlikely that a child will display all of these signs. Here are several common signs of ASD in babies:

From 6 months to 1 year:

🧩 Reacting in an unexpected way to new faces
🧩 Rarely smiling in social situations
🧩 Making little or no eye contact
🧩 Difficulty in following objects with their eyes
🧩 A lack of response to hearing their name
🧩 A limited or overreaction to loud sounds
🧩 Displaying a lack of interest in interactive games
🧩 Chattering, or imitating sounds and words is limited
🧩 An aversion to being touched or cuddled
🧩 Not reaching out when about to be picked up

Are you looking for early intervention services to help your baby thrive? Essential Speech & ABA Therapy combines ABA Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Occupational Therapy all under one roof to help children aged 18 months to 6 years old. Visit our website to get started: https://loom.ly/V7DgcB8
