🔍 Case Highlight: Lumbar Decompression Surgery
This week, our team performed a laminectomy at L4-5 with foraminotomies and facetectomies at L4-5 and L5-S1 to address severe lumbar spinal stenosis.
🧠What does that mean?
A laminectomy removes a small part of bone to create more space in the spinal canal
A foraminotomy widens the openings where nerves exit the spine
A facetectomy trims joints that may be pressing on nerves.
✅ Why it matters:
These procedures help relieve nerve pain, numbness, and leg weakness caused by spinal stenosis or arthritis in the lower back. Our goal is to reduce symptoms and help patients return to their daily activities with less pain.

🎓✨ Empowering Futures in Kenya ✨🎓

Founded in 2012, Giving Back to Kenya was born when the Raore family visited and saw many teens out of school due to cost. Some had dropped out, others never started. The Raore family knew from personal experience the struggle of not being able to pay for tuition. Since the creation of GB2K:

📚65 students supported through high school
🧠40 students completed their high school education
👩‍🎓19 students currently in the program
