Sometimes while sitting in meditation my mind becomes so very still. It is as if the cosmic curtain to reality is drawn. Aspects of absolute reality begin to reveal themselves.
At other times, my mind won't stop. The many mental activities of planning, (attempts at) problem solving, recalling, predicting....and on and on.
What a wild ride! The journey of a lifetime.

I am so honored! I've been invited to speak at "Level Up: The Quest for Connections" alongside His Eminence Gala Tulku Rinpoche and Sister Pearl at Quang Minh Temple. His Eminence was recognized at sixteen by the Dalai Lama as the 7th reincarnation of Gala Tulku. Sister Pearl bridges Vietnamese and Soto Zen traditions, bringing mindfulness to young people with joy and compassion. To sit with monastics who've devoted their lives to these practices—I hope I can do justice to this honor.

I'll be sharing how Western psychotherapy and Buddhist teachings work together to support mental and emotional well-being.

Did you know? Our five physical senses—sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch—plus our mind as the sixth sense organ shape how we understand the present moment. But here's the thing: these perceptions are limited or sometimes completely inaccurate.
When we understand this, we can question our biases and beliefs. Deeper insights and freedom arise. ✨

As I integrate Buddhist Psychology into Western Psychotherapy, people often ask why. I try to point to some of the advantages of combining these two approaches.

One of the biggest advantages is that Buddhist Psychology offers a much clearer lens for understanding—or, as I prefer to say, categorizing—mental and emotional stress. One approach (DSM) points to over 400 diagnostic codes. The other invites us to look at five mental and emotional "hindrances" that obscure clarity and cause distress.
