Chuseok is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, right in the middle of autumn.
Its most common origin is from the ancient agrarian society, where people offered their heartfelt efforts to their ancestors as a way of giving thanks for the abundant harvest of the year.
As the saying goes, "May every day be like Hangawi(Chuseok)," Chuseok is our nation's biggest holiday, a day for expressing gratitude for our ancestors and the year's bounty, and fostering harmony among all family members.
Here at the Suwanee Meditation Center, we shared our thankfulness for the year, enjoyed delicious food together, and had a wonderful time!
