Sometimes, babies can carry quite a bit of tension. Doing simple stretches and exercises can help relieve that tension for your child.

Tension may look like colicky & fussy, closed fists that won’t open, stiffness in the body, their limbs don’t move in a fluid motion or much at all, not prgressing through milestones properly, & other ways.

Sometimes the 90/90 stretch is not the best fit for everyone, and that’s okay. If it feels uncomfortable or too aggressive.

Try the hip airplane instead.

This movement helps improve hip control and mobility without forcing your body into ranges it may not be ready for yet.

Start standing in a slight hip hinge with support for balance if needed. Extend the opposite leg behind you. Slowly rotate your hips open toward the ceiling, then back down toward the floor with control. Move slowly through both internal and external hip rotation.

Our bodies are made to move. Without activity, even low grade, our bodies FEEL it. We may even develop those dreaded words: bone on bone, carpal tunnel, chronic headaches/migraines, etc.

Movement & exercise lubricate & hydrate joints, promote circulation, & strengthens muscles. All things that prolong degeneration or decrease chronic aches & pains.

Welcome to the posture series! We will tell you what the best posture is, how posture contributes to pain & dysfunction, & ways we can combat it.
🧘 Let’s set the record straight; there’s not 1 perfect posture. Sedentary activity is what we should pay attention to. Staying in one position for an extended period of time is the problem.
🖥️ Ways to get moving during your workday could include getting a standing/sitting desk, or if safe for you, a walking pad or desk bike. Or setting your workspace in the most ergonomic position.
🛋️ For after work hours, this could include using different furniture in ur house, sitting at the kitchen table to eat then laying in ur bed, & sitting on different couches & chairs. As well as taking evening or morning walks around the neighborhood.
🔑 The key takeaway is taking breaks during ur work day or after each episode you watch to get up & stretch or do some exercise.

Did you know rest & ice are no longer the standard for an ankle sprain? Movement & load are the protocol. Save these exercises for next time you roll your ankle!

Foot & ankle range of motion. Get that mid foot moving & those tiny foot muscles as well as the ankle muscles.

Banded eversion to your tolerance & range of motion. Do some reps with a hold on the last rep.

Eccentric calf raises. Focus on pushing the big toe into the floor. Raise up with two feet & slowly come down using just the injured foot.

We discussed the realities behind common shoulder, hip, and foot injuries, why pain doesn’t always mean damage, and how proper load management and progressive rehab can keep people training strong.

Bored of your core exercises? Elevate your classics with these two variations of the dead bug & bird dog.

💀🐞Keep good tension on your band & increase the tension as you’re able. Make sure the rib cage doesn’t flare & your low back stays glued to the floor.

🦜🐶Make sure you push away from the floor with your shoulders & don’t let the shoulders sink. Keep the traps loose & relaxed. Be controlled & coordinated when moving your limbs. Think slow & controlled over fast & wobbly.
