🌞 Beat the Heat, Cheshire County! 🌞
Extreme heat is here, and it’s important to stay safe and cool. Here are some quick tips and local resources to help you handle the heat:
đź§Š Heat Safety Tips
Drink plenty of water — avoid caffeine and alcohol.
Wear light, loose-fitting clothing and use sunscreen.
Stay indoors during peak sun hours (11 AM–4 PM).
Use fans or AC when possible — or visit a local cooling center.
Never leave children or pets in hot vehicles.
Check in on elderly neighbors and those without AC.
⚠️ Know the Signs
Heat Exhaustion (take action!)
Heavy sweating, pale/clammy skin
Weakness, dizziness, headache, nausea
Muscle cramps
➡ Move to a cool place, sip water, and rest.
Heat Stroke (CALL 911!)
Hot, red, dry skin (no sweating)
Body temp over 104°F, confusion, fainting
➡ Call 911 immediately and begin cooling the person down with cold water or ice packs.
