Employee spotlight!

Meet Heide. Heide is one of our Masters Level Interns. Using a narrative approach to therapy, she is able to put her clients at ease and make them comfortable working through their struggles. Her background as a professional storyteller has greatly influenced her therapy style.

Fun fact: in 1988 Heide was the Genesee County 4-H Queen!

Today marks more than an anniversary, it marks 4 years of the realization that dreams do come true! What started in a small office, with a hope of growing to be a space where all are welcomed with “maybe one other therapist”, has become so much more than there are even words for. Today, the office is a space where so much peace and healing is occurring every day, where families are changed, families are built, and a mission is lived out. Rooted In Love has always been a vision of genuine, compassionate, empathetic and connected mental health care. Our goal is to reach anyone seeking to work on their treatment needs, while removing barriers to accessing services, and we continue to strive to maintain this focus, so mental health can be widely available to ALL individuals. I thank God everyday for the growth, in order to bring this vision to life! I am so thankful to each and every one of our amazing staff and clinicians, your dedication to Rooted In Love does not ever go unnoticed! To say I am excited for the future doesn’t adequately describe how much I am looking forward to future growth, stability, and to be a constant in the field of mental health as an office to inspire change within this field, to inspire other offices to shift focus to what matters, and that is YOU, our clients and community!! Thank you all for 4 amazingly wonderful years, here’s to many more!!!

Employee spotlight:

Meet Laura! She is one of our LLPCs. She has such a kind heart and a great sense of humor. Her patience and fun spirit makes her the perfect choice for kids and adults alike. If she's not in her office, you can usually find her in the front going through the fidgets to find the perfect one for her next client, or maybe even herself!

Fun fact: Laura's favorite place to be is in her hammock or on the beach!

Laura's schedule is pretty full, but she can fit a few new clients in the mornings. If interested, call our office.

We just want to say thank you to everyone who has continued to support us. We very frequently have new clients call and say their loved ones told them about us. Your support means the world to us and has allowed us to grow in ways we couldn't imagine.

This group starts April 7th. Call us to get added to the list!

We are excited to announce another group opportunity here at Rooted IN Love. Trauma Reboot will begin on April 7, 2026 and will be every Tuesday for 12 weeks from 5-7pm.

This group is for co-ed 18+ and will be available virtually or in person at our office. If you would like to participate in this group please contact our office to be added to the participant list.

This group focuses on healing from trauma at any age. It is a very powerful group and will be led by our very own Marla Banister.

Meet Marla! She is one of our LLMSW. Marla is very passionate about her clients and shows empathy and kindness to everyone she meets. Her calming presence creates a safe space for her clients to open up and start their journey to healing.

Fun fact: Marla entered her spiritual journey in 2020 and uses meditation with positive affirmations.
