Recently our residents and staff joined in on the Cheese Head Game — where the goal was to toss cheese balls and see how many would stick on each other’s heads! The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and LOTS of cheese balls everywhere.

It’s and The Waters of Sweetwater would like to Spotlight our Administrator, Kristie Valentino!

This week we celebrated and Kristie for all that she does! Kristie has returned to the Administrator role at The Waters of Sweetwater in July of 2025, she had been the administrator prior in 2023-2024. Kristie comes to the facility with a lot of experience not only from being a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator since 2021, but she is also a social worker which shows through her actions for the community she is working with. Kristie has the goals of making The Waters of Sweetwater the best facility anyone can go to for short term rehabilitation or to spend the rest of their life in a home like environment. She Believes that everyone in her facility from the staff to the residents and their families are a vital part of her family and will do what is needed to bring the best outcome for them to feel wanted and loved.

We are so THANKFUL and BLESSED to have Kristie back in the reigns in the Administrator’s role and can’t wait to see where she takes The Waters of Sweetwater, the residents, staff, and community. Please feel free to come and talk with Kristie anytime as she has an open-door policy for all!

🌟 Please join us in celebrating our Star of The Week, Leann! 🌟

Leann came to The Waters of Sweetwater after experiencing cardiac issues and surgery that left her weak and easily fatigued. Everyday tasks like dressing and showering were exhausting, and because of sternal precautions, she could barely use her arms at first.

Determined to regain her independence, Leann focused on strengthening her legs and learning new ways to do things. With the help of our incredible therapy team, she mastered using a reacher to avoid bending, gained stability with a walker, and received guidance from OT on adaptive equipment for home. PT worked closely with her to build strength safely and effectively.

Thanks to her perseverance, Leann progressed from walking independently in her room to moving confidently around the building — and eventually completing all her self-care tasks without feeling worn out. Now she’s looking forward to returning to work, stronger than ever! 👏

Congratulations, Leann! We will miss you!

What’s cooking at The Waters?👨‍🍳

Recently, The Waters of Sweetwater hosted our 2nd Chopped Competition! Resident–staff teams were challenged to create a dish featuring peaches, butter, and a mystery ingredient. Everyone enjoyed watching the morning cook-off and sampling the delicious results in the afternoon. 🍑

Our panel of judges included community friends Allison Shaw (Caris Hospice), Johnny Slusher (Amedisys Hospice), and Johnathon Watson (Gentiva Hospice)—plus our very own celebrity judge, Tammy Wilson, Housekeeping Aide.

From savory chicken entrées to sweet treats like peach pie, peach cookie cake, and peach pancakes with peach purée, the creativity was incredible!
