343 firefighters rested before their morning shift.
60 police officers prepared for their morning patrol.
8 paramedics closed their eyes before their morning duty.
None of them would see past 10:00 a.m. on September 11, 2001.

August 22nd is National Rainbow Baby Day 🌈 and it’s a day we hold close to our hearts.

Rainbow babies are the babies born after loss.
They are proof that grief and joy can exist in the same heartbeat.

They are the cry that breaks through silence.
The warmth that follows cold hospital rooms.
The color that appears in a sky you thought would stay gray forever.

But here’s what people don’t say:
a rainbow baby doesn’t erase the storm.
They don’t replace the baby you lost.
They simply arrive carrying both:
the weight of absence
and the miracle of presence.

That is why parents of rainbow babies love so fiercely,
because they know how fragile life is.
They’ve held the ache of empty arms,
because they’ve learned joy tastes different when it’s been seasoned with grief.

So today and every day,
we honor the rainbows,
we speak the names of the babies who came before them,
and we hold space for the parents still waiting for their sky to clear.

The rainbow is not the end of the storm.
It’s the beginning of hope
and proof that even in the
darkest seasons, love will find a way.

We’d also like to congratulate Jenn on officially accepting a position as a delivering Certified Nurse Midwife here at RPMH. (More details on when she will begin accepting patients, & office location to come 😊).

The best time to take a birthing class is usually close enough to your due date that the information is fresh, but not so close that you'll miss the class if your baby arrives early. To make sure you don't miss out on valuable information, we recommend taking the class in the third trimester- (between 28 and 40 weeks).
Everyone is welcome to attend. (Even if you've been through labor before and just want to take a refresher course.) See the flyer below for details!

🌟2ND Quarter Code Pink Drill recognition goes to Bonnie Garcia, ICU Director!!! 🌟
Bonnie stopped our “perpetrator” and rescued our “baby” during today’s drill. Special shout out to our own Kelsey Stokes for being our baby thief today. 🤣🤣 Strong work practicing to keep our RPMH babies safe! 🩷🩵
