Many athletes build muscle but overlook tendon strength, crucial for force transfer and injury prevention.

Julien Raby highlights how collagen synthesis differs from muscle growth and why tendons adapt more slowly.

The article compares isometric holds like wall sits and Spanish squats with eccentric exercises such as Nordic curls and reverse Nordics to build bulletproof tendons.

It recommends programming tips—hold isometrics for 30–45 seconds and integrate eccentric or heavy slow resistance training two to three times a week.

Integrating high-load lifts, plyometrics, and targeted tendon work can boost performance and safeguard joints, with more details in the full guide.

New studies show your regular bike ride does far more than burn calories. It releases a hormone called irisin that enters your brain, helps grow new neurons, and actively fights alzheimer's. Science now confirms that movement truly is medicine👇

Your energy is shaped more by your habits than your motivation.
Most people feel drained because they neglect the basics that keep their mind and body stable.

They survive on caffeine, scroll late into the night, skip movement, and then wonder why they feel anxious, unmotivated, and burnt out.

Fix the fundamentals first.

Hydrate like your focus depends on it.
Sleep like your future depends on it.
Move your body like it’s non-negotiable.
Eat like you respect yourself.

You don’t need perfect conditions.
You need consistent, repeatable basics.

Master the foundation, and discipline stops feeling like a struggle — because your body and mind start working with you, not against you.

Winter Weather Advisory — Please Share
A strong cold front is expected to push across Texas starting late Thursday night, Jan. 22, and persist into Monday morning, Jan. 26. Wintry precipitation is possible across large portions of the state, including freezing rain (ice), sleet, and snow. Gusty north northeasterly winds are likely, with gusts up to 25–30 mph possible.

TXDOT crews will begin pretreating routes here in Nolan County, in the coming hours: Interstate 20, US Highway 84, State Highway 70, and State Highway 153. Expect increased maintenance activity and reduced speeds in work zones.

Impacts to expect:
• Hazardous travel on roads, bridges, and overpasses (slick or icy surfaces)
• Reduced visibility during heavier precipitation and wind
• Possible localized power outages where ice accumulates on trees and lines

What you can do:
• Avoid travel if possible; allow extra time if you must drive
• If driving, slow down, increase following distance, and watch for black ice
• Prepare a vehicle emergency kit (blankets, warm clothes, water, snacks, flashlight, phone charger, shovel, ice scraper, sand/kitty litter)
• Insulate exposed pipes and let faucets drip if temperatures will fall below freezing
• Secure loose outdoor items and charge phones in case of outages
• Make a plan for outdoor pets: bring pets inside if possible, provide an insulated shelter and extra bedding, ensure fresh (unfrozen) water and extra food, and limit time outdoors during freezing or icy conditions

Stay tuned to the National Weather Service for updates and any watches or warnings.
