Horses have an extraordinary ability to live fully in the present moment, guided by instinct rather than worry about the past or future. As prey animals, their awareness is rooted in the here and now—they respond to what they see, hear, and feel in real time, then quickly return to a state of calm once the moment passes. They don’t dwell on mistakes or anticipate problems that haven’t happened; instead, they move forward with quiet acceptance. This natural mindfulness is part of what makes being around horses so grounding for people—they invite us to slow down, let go of mental clutter, and simply exist alongside them, one moment at a time.

Miracles in Motion is partnering with Horses for Mental Health for Mental Health Awareness Month in May, a global campaign to spread awareness of the power of the human-horse connection and how that bond can heal and make Miracles. 🐴💚

Volunteers,

For every Miracle you make and all the time you dedicate to our mission, we appreciate you. You don’t know how much of a difference you make in every life you touch. Your impact is felt with every “walk-on” and each hoof beat. Each of you brings joy, talent, and strength to every single day and all throughout our community. I speak for every participant, horse, and cat when I say thank you for all you do, and we truly could not do this without each and every one of you. Happy National Volunteer Week! 💚🐴
